West Indies struggling now. Level with Pakistan and Ireland but played one and two games more. They batted badly in Perth. Fast wicket which offers some swing. The top order should have played themselves in and gone hard later on, not at the start.

India beat West Indies by 4 wickets in Perth
India 185 for 6 (Dhoni 45*) - West Indies 182 (Holder 57, Shami 3-35)
India qualify for knockout stages

Pakistan beat South Africa by 29 runs (D/L method) in Auckland

Sarfraz Ahmed took a record 6 catches

Ireland beat Rhodesia comfortably.... Well.... In a a hollywood finish.

Ireland consolidate their position as the best cricketing nation in the Northern Hemisphere

Ireland beat Zimbabwe by five runs in Hobart
Ireland 331 for 8 (Joyce 112, Balbirnie 97, Chatara 3-61) - Zimbabwe 326 (Taylor 121, Williams 96, Cusack 4-32)
Really good game to watch - ICC please note that once again a great game involves one of the Associate Nations - the decision to reduce their numbers in the next WC needs to be reversed

If Gosmore played Wymondley it would probably be a close game, doesn't mean those sides should be at the next world cup. Correct decision by the ICC.

I don't think so. Ireland have beaten the WI and look competitive. If Zimbabwe and others are running them close, it suggests the minnows are not that far away. And a football World Cup wouldn't be inclusive without Australia or Costa Rica or other teams capable of causing upsets.

If the competition was just a contest between the top eight or even twelve, it would lose a lot.

Don't worry about him, that's just fear talking.

It just doesn't make sense not having the best cricketing nation in the Northern Hemisphere at the World Cup.

It would gain a lot: a shorter tournament played between gentlemen.

New Zealand beat Afghanistan by six wickets in Napier
New Zealand 188 for 4 (Guptill 57, McCullum 42) - Afghanistan 186 (Najibullah 56, Shenwari 54, Vettori 4-18, Boult 3-34)

* Now New Zealand have won the Group how seriously will they take the game against Bangladesh on Friday? England could win their last 2 games but still go out if Bangladesh beat NZ
