People point at the fact that we eat a lot of curries, or that there are a lot of Asian doctors, as justification. So what? They've given us new ways of cooking, not solved world hunger, and are filling jobs that could and would be filled if they weren't there. I've come across more incompetent foreign doctors than I have decent ones

They've also - and by 'they' I mean black and Muslim populations - been the cause of terrorist attacks, hate crimes, and disgusting, racially-motivated (or at least aggravated) sexual assaults. You pointing out that there are a lot of white *****philes is not evidence of anything. It is a red herring. It is ignoring that fact that non-whites are far more likely to commit certain crimes by saying "but look at how bad we are"

It really isn't a red herring to point that out, particularly since you're doing the same thing.

If anything, those crimes you mentioned (perhaps excluding terrorism) are pretty generalised across ethnic demographics. The areas of criminality which are most disproportionately committed by blacks and Asians are robbery, fraud and drug offences. You are correct that blacks and Asians do commit (or at least get prosecuted for) more crimes than whites in terms of of crime : population ratios, but then if you manipulated those statistics to take into account all the people living in deprived council estates across the country, and exclude those from middle class backgrounds, you'd find that crime rates roughly equalise themselves in conformity with demographics.

It's very hard for me to comment on this topic. I've always fought for tolerance... for all races, sexualities, sexes etc...

I come from all over the place, My descendants were spanish and polish on one side and swedish (like a lot of you I'm sure) on the other. I have french blood, lived in 3 different countries... the list goes on. I have friends, probably, from a combined 30/40 different countries.
All this to say I've always stood by the benefits of immigration.


But I'm afraid the tide is changing... and the muslims are to blame. I'm trying hard to resist but they are forcing me to change my views. Their actions are solely responsible for this. I know full well there are good muslims out there and I do feel a little sorry for them but today's actions will have been the tipping point for a lot of people imo.

I am not gonna pick out certain points or opinions, it's an extremely complicate debate that won't be solved on this forum.

However I'd like to point out two things.

Religion is man's worst invention.
I wouldn't be surprised if it ruined civilisation eventually.
At the end of the day that's the problem. Islam. Supposedly a peaceful religion... is still living in the dark ages. It hasn't evolved whatsoever. Catholicism was aggressive and violent...but 300 years ago. They really need to evolve, it's urgent now.
As an atheist this isn't a surprising opinion but I really loathe religion. Believers will hide behind the good it can do but in the case of Islam, the bad outweighs the good.
Also separating the state from the faith is something we've done well in this country but they clearly don't. It's something that they need to embrace in their home nations immediately.

They come to our country from a country where a huge percentage of the population believe in the same faith. They seem to be struggling with the idea of mixing with different faiths, atheists and a government that doesn't include religion in its policies.
It's sickening that we're harbouring people who actually hate us.


Secondly, the good muslims. ****ING GET OFF YOUR RUGS AND DO SOMETHING. If you ARE good peaceful muslims then you should be offended by today's events. You should be on OUR side and Britain's side. You should help the police! Do you not think some "good" muslims knew who these guys were and what they're up to?
Of course they're probably scared of snitching but you're either on their side or on this country's side. You can't come here and enjoy all the benefits of our lifestyle and be a bystander. I'm really tired of hearing people say "not all muslims are like them"... it means nothing to me if you don't prove it. Prove it by helping us get rid of those types.

I've no idea what a current poll would show, and I don't like the inference that there are cultural ghetos in one of the worlds most tolerant and least racist Countries, but a yougov survey a few years ago showed that a significant proportion of muslims wouldn't give information to uk security forces about terrorists and would support terrorist actions.

Until these groups condemn the actions of these cowards acting in their name, people will apply a broad brush to blame.

The problem is our government are slow when it comes to making decisions about homeland policies! If this had happened somewhere else they would condem it and offer to send forces to help the country! But when it involves voters! They have a different view on things! Well hang on, which variant of Islam do you mean? Sunni? Shi'a? Sufism? I think you refer to Wahhabist or Deobandi Islam, which are not indicative of Islam any more than the Religious Right in the United States is indicative of Christianity. The forms of Islam which I think you're talking about are indeed aggressive, but they have been popularised over a long period of time as a result of multiple factors, not limited to:

- the backing of the Wahhabist House of Saud by British and American oil firms in the mid 20th century;
- the bankrolling of Wahhabist mujahideen in Afghanistan and Pakistan;
- the bankrolling of Wahhabist mujahideen in Syria and Libya;
- successive UK Governments refusing to denounce the Saudis, who through their patronage networks have built thousands of madrassah schools, ensuring millions of Muslims receive a blinkered religious education;


The truth is that if you put aside this geographically and demographically small subsection of Islam, most Muslims are no more conservative or insular than people of any other faith.

These extremists probably ignore at least 98% of the entire book and focus on the odd line dotted here and there throughout the book, then throw them all together and take them completely out of context.
