Personally, I think the police need to be given credit for not actually killing them - that's what they were seeking, 'martyrdom'. As it is, unless they take their own lives in prison, they will face a lifetime inside always looking over their shoulders - the less charitable side of my personality finds that to be a better 'justice' for the barbaric act they committed than a quick death. Doesn't make me feel good to say it mind.

It's the coppers redeeming themselves since they knew who these twats were before it.

Serious cock ups in intelligence lead to this.

No, unfettered and indiscriminate immigration leads to **** like this.

Draw a nasty cartoon and it all kicks off.

These people are not compatible with a European lifestyle.

If they find British/European life irksome, let them go forth and multiply in one of the many islamic ****holes worldwide. (Surely we are not holding the all here against their will?)

They can cut off their daughter's genitals and marry their cousin etc with approving looks from the locals.

Not wanted here, thank you very much <ok>.

Had your eyes and ears closed in the 70s and 80s then did you? It was no fun whatsoever being of Irish descent as a child. Frequently there were calls to kick us out - phone calls from the NF at 2AM in the morning and all sorts.

Shouldn't post on this thread without saying how disgusting wednesday's event was and how sorry I feel for his family and friends. Also nice to see the Just giving link posted by Lambretta man - hopefully something half good will come out of this.

I wasn't born until 1987 so obviously didn't hear anything from the 1970's or 1980's.

My point was even though there isn't the deep hatred of innocent Irish people like there's a deep hatred of innocent Muslims.

What percentage of muslims in this country share the same views as the 2 Woolwich savages?

A surprisingly high number I'm afraid.

It's just the response/solution that they don't share.

There was at the time.

It's true, there was.

In the early 80's, I lived in London and was a frequent visitor to Belfast, my office was also at Staples Corner(which is at the end of Cricklewood High Street where all the IRA pubs were).

There were a lot of people who wanted the Irish deported, people would get off the tube if they heard Irish accents and it sometimes kicked off if there were Irish people in pubs that were not in predominantly Irish areas.

It wasn't quite as bad as the feelings many have now, but it wasn't far off.

Wembley, Staples corner - **** me you probably know more about me than i do <<laugh>

No offence Golaccio but you talk some right Bollox. If you think the intelligence community can track every known nutter then you are sadly mistaken. The intelligence agency is seriously under funded and under resourced. The politicians are going to have to dig deep into their pockets and bend the rules if the intelligence agency is ever going to win. The politicians hope that Islamic terrorism will melt away, you can already hear it in their comments and their talk about social integration and harmony. As for bending the rules the PC brigade, Amnesty International and all the other herberts will oppose the changes in the Court of Human Rights and what not. Lets face it we're on course for Civil war, not tomorrow or next week or next year but in the future.

I honestly wouldn't 'be surprised if the bobby who double tapped the **** on the floor was investigated or even suspended.

I'd give him a knighthood.

Don't make excuses- they cocked right up! The bloke on the front of the Sun was standing right behind Anjem Choudary at one of his ****in rallies, and he was at other events in the capital. You'd think they'd keep a track on him considering everything Choudray has done is well documented and they're a band group.

And as for a Civil War. What a load of ****e! There'll be a few problems if either a group of Muslims or the EDL stoke the fire, but it won't esculate into anything other than a minor squirmish.

There was no civil war after the 7/7 bombings and that was a bigger incident than this in terms of deaths.

Some Asian people (whether they're Muslim or not) will be targeted by the knuckle dragging twats in society.

I agree with you that the Police and the Politicians will have to get tougher. I doubt you need to give MI5 an invitation to bend the rules.

Golaccio. Agree with you about the Choudary connection to a degree. Picture was taken in 2010. Choudary in his interview on Newsnight last night, an interview that will go down in infamy, admitted that he had not seen the bloke since 2010. That is 3 years ago. The other photo from a protest at the Old Bailey was 2006 (7 years ago) but I could wrong about that. I don't think the security bods will bother to continue to track someone who disappeared off the radar 3 years ago. I still don't think you understand when I say a civil war in the future. I am not talking about tomorrow, next week or next year. I am talking long term especially if there is no let up in wars between the west and those in the east.

Fair enough the Old Bailey incident was a bit off.

However, if Choudrey's group were band in this country they'd have the identities of those who were in it. Especially if they were present at most of it's meetings. Or they should do.

I'm sure they would if it was someone like the IRA.

A redeeming feature is they've nicked two others connected (or supposedly) and they shot the two on sight. Plus, I think giving them Martyrdom status would have been worse then keeping them alive.

They bring back the Armed Forces from Afghan soon. I think they're presence as a force will prevent anything kicking off. I'm aware this was an attack on a Servicemen, but he was singled out and alone. I can't see it esculating to anything further than it did after the 7/7 bombings.

Got to agree with Duffen on this.

Putting anyone under constant surveillance is massively labour intensive. It takes dozens of trained staff to do it.

I'm sure MI5 would love to be have the resources to be able to watch every terror suspect on their radar.

They just haven't got the staff to do it and that was said by former anti terrorist commander from the met.

His name escapes me.

Some of you seem to be advocating a police state where anyone suspected of anything is rounded up.

Some of the posts and views in this awful thread make me despair.
