Driving a truck between a few stores today around Yorkshire but I’ll be refreshing when I’m not driving and my full 45 minute break.

hopefully back in time to watch us put Boro to the sword.

You can hand in your Tachograph later on to show us how many times you stopped to check updates. <laugh>

Time for Speakman to decide if we’re serious on promotion back to where we belong or if he is intent on lowering us to being a middling champ club a la Bristol City

Time for Dreyfus to start acting like a multibillionaire

Fingers crossed for today but not holding my breath

oh and **** the Boro

Listened to the podcast with the ex head of data and he mentioned that the hierarchy don't try to "force" and "pressure" promotion, I think they'll see it as a good chance for promotion but won't also break all their internal rules and methods to rush it through

I think Speakman has already shown his aim is for promotion - The Le Fee and Mepham signings prove that

Today is irrelevant to that. Would it be great to add players today, of course it would and I personally feel we need a couple extra players in to kick on

KLD has been smart as hell with his investment since coming in so he just has to keep doing what he's doing

That's a bloody awful way of looking at it.

Exactly how it should be eh

The people running our club has the short and most importantly long term in mind when making decisions

I don't want short term success, I want us to be successful over many years and I feel our owner and KS are the people to take us there

Large proportions of fans of all clubs are ridiculously entitled to be honest. They want instant success. They expect an owner to come in and throw millions at it - you here arguments like "if they're not willing to lose money, they shouldn't have got into football" etc. If they don't spend more in every transfer window than they makes they'll be accused of stealing from the club. If they spend more and make a loss, they'll be expected to write it off. If they come in, spend millions, achieve great success, it's still not "their club", it's "our club" and they're fortunate to be a custodian. As soon as that success isn't sustained they'll be expected to walk away and take whatever deal is best for the club.

That type of fan will never be satisfied because they're always looking outside at what everyone else has... And there will always be someone more successful. Far better to live in the present and appreciate what we have right now.

Tell it like it is mate, and that’s how it is.

There’s been a significant change from fans hoping for signings, then expecting signings and now demanding signings.

People know exactly what signings they want and seem to believe repeating it, on social media, will push the club into action then seem offended if their wishes aren’t granted. There’s a belief, among some, that ‘signings = promotion’ and ‘no signings = no ambition’ Staying with the squad who’ve given us a chance isn’t an option and will be throwing away our chance of going up. Not demanding signings means you’re accepting mediocrity apparently.

If ambition is shown, money spent and promotion not achieved the answer will be ‘spend more money next time’, guaranteed …

… then, when it all goes wrong and the spectres of relegation, debts and liquidation appear people will say, ‘Yes the owner/club should be punished but why should the fans suffer?’

Sunderland have become bigger and better without repeating the mistakes of the past but some will still say ‘They’re trying to do it on the cheap’ as if that’s a bad thing. KLD keeps saying he wants the club to be sustainable …

… some don’t like the sound of that despite the alternative being unsustainable.

As you’ve said some want money spent no matter where it comes from, preferably KLDs own pocket for some.

Que sera on the window … Ha’way the Lads at Boro.

First windup of what will be a long day! Think KS and KLD have already shown their intent and their ability to see it through.

Can see why other teams have said the window closing when they have a game is a pain in the arse.

Today's going to be long enough waiting for the game without the hassle of deadline day.

What will be will be at 11pm tonight and the biggest thing is 3 points and no injuries l, the rest will sort itself out over the next few weeks
