There's a massive difference in age and experience.

Aye I know Pickford had a few loans and was in his 20’s, but some really top keepers have started younger.

Buffon, Donnaruma. Both tossed in due to circumstances and never looked back. Casillas too.

All of these were 18 or under and we talking absolutely legendary keepers.

I’m not pushing for Patto to go mind he’s been good recently. Just if he did.

You could argue all of those keepers came into great teams where they had a load of experience ahead of them.

Aye of put that blondy on the bench. Needs to sort out his attitude too. Third or fourth game in a row he has pissed off down the tunnel on his lonesome
I’m not a massive fan. I just don’t think it’s the time for emotional responses. Massive changes can be as bad as good in terms of impact.

You could, but in the case of Donna & Casillas, they didn’t.

Buffon came into a decent Parma side but Casillas was part of the start of a rebuild at Real.

Donnaruma was a bang average Milan side that he helped massively improve. They’d been stagnant a while.

They all faced shots and pressure.

Young would be coming into a more than decent side. If he’s good enough he’s old enough.

On the subject of Pattison, we've been burned by wishing for another "better" keeper before. His shot stopping has won us quite a lot of points this season, unfortunately any mistakes are likely to cause points dropped so it becomes a bigger issue. The same thing happens when people pile on O9 for example after a defensive mistake. Should he have commanded his box for the equaliser? Yes. But also the defenders were woeful.

There's a reason bigger clubs than us are/we're looking at him.

Looking at keeper stats in the league he has a 73% save rate which is very good at this level. Notice the Stoke keeper is one of the few ahead and his kicking was also awful. It's a fine balance for a keeper which is why good all round ones go for a ridiculous amount of money.

He's a good GK

I don't mind Patterson at the minute, he was very good against Derby. However, he hasn't kicked on like we all hoped he would
Some of the comments also fit with my worries. Kicking seems really flaky, he looks more solid but less mobile and he doesn’t seem to own and dominate things. However both Burnley and Derby he arguably won us 4 points with amazing shot stopping.. I’d say pretty much every player has weaknesss to go with strengths. I prefer the Le Bris cerebral approach of development ahead of radging out though.

I get the criticism for Patto, but he has won us points this season with some excellent saves, two as recently as the Derby game.
I sometimes think he needs a bomb under him, because he can be far to casual, which results in him getting closed down far too often, leading to mistakes.
Getting off his line, commanding his area and his distribution all need a lot of work.

Hope so mate lots of people in the game raving about him and there’s a reason city have serious interest

agree on Patto that save at 1-1 was phenomenal, he was a mess for both goals though, he wasn’t the only one at fault though
Talking to the Darlo Chairman on Wednesday gone and he said Man City and Utd had watched him numerous times when he was there.

They’ve bid a few times too apparently, the lads a serious talent, he’s at an ideal club for them to sent scouts too now in Salford, glad we’ve tied him down to a long deal

Did you watch him in the Cup against Stoke? He's not as good a keeper as Patterson and clearly the goalie coaches and manager, who work with them.every day, feel the same. You always have to target someone after a defeat..today its Patterson.

What is the goalie coaching doing with Patterson as he hasn't improved has he ? His kicking hasnt improved at all.

Patterson honestly looks overweight nearly everyone I’ve spoke to has said the same. He has zero commanding of his box and the amount of goals we’ve conceded when he could have came off his line to catch the ball is unreal. Might be a good shot stopper but that’s it.

Simon Moore looked honestly way more comfortable when we had a set piece to defend

Is it confidence I wonder?, can’t be good for confidence when there’s a load of fans calling you a fat bastard behind back (which has been reported)

For me the takeaway there isn't that Mayenda should replace Isidor but that he should replace Roberts on the RW. He's an effective player, strong, fast, links up well.

I don't see him on the wing long term but I firmly believe he'd do a better job there than Roberts.
I dont know mate. Mayenda looks so much better through the middle imo. Rigg would be better choice I think if we want to drop Roberts.

Don't get all this Patto hate, he's a very good goalkeeper. Some were trying to blame him for the 2nd goal yesterday, when he did nothing wrong

Why didn't he shout to 09 to leave the first header? It would have drifting though to him without a Plymouth player in site. He was also hesitant to get out and attempt to claim the ball. IMO he was slow out on the first goal too.
