Could buying Wilson now not massively eat into the budget? Sure it was reported we aren’t covering his wages so say we buy him now, we have to pay I dunno £4m plus a wage for someone who’s costing us nothing currently and look to ad other players?

£4m for Wilson would be an absolute steal like

I don't get the negativity about Paddy. For me he's a vital player for us. At times he has a bad game, but flair players like him do. Consecutive managers play him cos he gives us something. A lot of the time opponents double up on him because he's a threat, which will leave others in space.

I don't think it's hard to understand why people want an upgrade on Roberts. For me I don't have a negative feeling towards him, I like him and enjoy watching him.

It's simply that in the time we've had him, we've had a series of left wingers who can match what Roberts does (graft, good to watch, players have to double up) but who also score goals that have won us games. I don't know why anyone wouldn't want that on both sides of the pitch.

We’ve learnt lessons from the past and not paying over the top for players.

13m for a player in this window is crazy. Also paying 50k a week in wages is outrageous for a club in the EFL.

it’s a risky game SU are playing as if they don’t go up, they will probs have sell most of them otherwise they’ll get hit again with ffp stuff
Exactly the same was said about Ipswich. The risk paid off, Premier League football and millions to go with it

Meanwhile Luton are in a relegation place ...
No comparison really, they snuck up through the play offs and hardly spent

Ipswich were taking huge risks in the championship (according to some on here) but those ‘risks’ paid off and now they’re facing Manchester City today with millions gained whether they stay up or not

I’m sure Sheff United will be just fine too…

We are doing things correctly for the first time possibly since Bob Murray days.

we’re buying correctly and making sure we are established.

It's so boring buying 'proven Championship players' and grinding your way up like Luton, Sheff Utd, Burnley ...

... I'm absolutely loving the risks we're taking with the likes of Isidor, Le Fée, Mundle, Bellingham, etc.

It's absolutely fascinating unless you just want to bulldoze your way to the PL at any cost.

And the fact that these players can only get better is a big plus. I think that at least half of the first 11 can play in the premier League once they find their feet there is another big plus for me. Some "championship quality" players struggle there
