I’d prefer a right sided version. Mundle will be back soon enough and if we get a striker Isidor can cover the left. Roberts has improved last few games but a match winner option with a strong shot on them would strengthen us.
Roberts is 1 of the best wingers in the league, even when he doesn't directly get an assist he is involved in a lot of build up to goals. He also occupies opposition players as 2 or 3 are drawn to him a s soon as he gets the ball

At least Pembele felt like a calculated risk that if he “clicked” he was a potential champions league player and could make us millions.

Poveda always felt like the best case scenario is he’d be a decent sub option for Roberts. There was no massive upside potential.

Just bizarre to give him a 3 year deal.
To be fair, if our ‘worst signing’ list includes a free transfer squad player I’d be using that as more evidence of quite how good we are at transfers these days. There’s only teally one standout transfer that springs to mind that has cost us good money, not really impacted the pitch and that we’ll lose a decent amount on. That’s pretty impressive in truth.

I see this said but any attacking player in an attacking position gets attention. Roberts has had a good month but when a team needs goal scoring options when behind in games and struggling to unpick defences, he’s rarely one of them. We need options and differing styles for each attacking position. I often think Roberts is best when we’re winning with his driving runs into space. He’s not got the composure to score regular goals.

I will say it’s nice to see the board making RLB heavily involved with recruitment.

Sounds like we now have a recruitment plan based on what RLB wants profile wise for each position. Also nice to see RLB say he has to sanction the signings

Really like Whitaker at Plymouth wonder if they’d still be demanding silly money

Absolutely. Mundle has done well but Clarke is still the better player for me like.
I think I prefer mundle a bit me. Pace and offers a lot more on the outside than Clarke did. Would always get a ball in rather than cut inside and shoot

I might be way off like but for all I really love Roberts I can see him not being here much longer.

I think RLB will want very Pacey wingers especially for the counter attack part of our style

Would like to see us target some players with expiring contracts, think it's a good way to pick up a bargain. 4 players below that I'd like us to target who would instantly improve the squad without having to spend that much.

Emil Riis, 26, Preston, Striker. Would be a good pickup for us and i'd imagine a lot of championship sides are after him. Good record at this level and has the attributes that I think would suit us in terms of hold up play, physicality and ability to run channels.

Tobias Lauritsen, 27, Sparta Rotterdam, Striker. Similar player to Riis. Excellent record in the Eredivisie. Tall, good finisher and fairly quick for his size.

Tyrhys Dolan, 23, Blackburn, Winger/attacking midfielder. Versatile, quick, good dribbler. Final product can be improved but would be a great addition for a fairly small fee, would instantly be worth at least double what we paid. Tore us apart on Boxing Day.

Julien Ponceau, 24, Lorient, Attacking midfielder. RLB knows him well and trusted him to play a lot of games in Ligue 1. Can play as a 10 or an 8 and can cover the wide areas if needed. Good dribbler with the ability to create chances.

Then we should be looking at the Premier League loan market again for players that aren't getting minutes, the same type of recruitment that brought us Mepham.

David Brooks, 27, Bournemouth, Attacking Midfielder/winger. Was loaned to Southampton last January and has only played 236 minutes in the league this season so far. Very good technically and would bring some needed quality in the final third.

Kamaldeen Sulemana, 22, Southampton, Winger. Speed and dribbling ability. RLB will know of him from his time in Ligue 1. Quality on his day but has only played 103 league minutes this season.

Fabio Carvalho, 22, Brentford, Attacking Midfielder. Only started 3 league games and only played 421 minutes. Quality at this level and would be a top end signing.

Luis Guilherme, 18, West Ham, Winger. Signed for massive money in the summer but hasn't featured at all with just 20 minutes of game time. This is the riskiest of the suggestions but he cost a load of money for a reason, similar situation to Amad in a way.

Big fan of Riis here. Would be a big yes from me.

Re the Mundle / Clarke debate. I would happily predict Watson will prove better than both. I think he has everything going for him.

As for Poveda and the 3 year deal. Isnt it a low wage but incentivised by performances. Sure I read that.

I see he’s been linked with Sheffield United. Makes sense

I really like the Riis shout. Could suit us very well

Whoever it is I wish we could give them the number 9 shirt. Is there rules stopping that since Hemir is only out on loan?

The poveda thing doesn't bother me in the slightest. He's hardly going to be a huge wage and it was probably seen as being worth the gamble.

Commentator tonight mentioned that we are targeting an aerially strong forward. Think that would be a good addition and would allow us to offer a different threat to teams. Pace and finishing with Isidor, pace and power with Mayenda and then someone who can be a threat from crosses into the box and hold up play.
