I think if Mundle was fit we’d be much better he’s averaging a goal contribution every game and a half so far and offers far more threat than Clarke in terms of pace and the fact he can go inside or outside
He’s not the finished article yet. But with a seasons experience he will be yes there’s a reason spurs let Clarke go and tried to tie down Mundle he’s faster, stronger, goes outside rather than just inside he’s also got more contributions than Clarke did at this stage and Clarke played his first games in league one Mundle will be better than Clarke for us and I’m sure a lot will agree
I wasn’t on about the future, I meant now. I know who I’d rather have every day of the week. Not that it matters like Hopefully we add some more quality in the wide areas
https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/s...ands-ian-poveda-suffers-fresh-injury-setback/ Better not sign players like this absolute liability. Seen a corpse with more fitness
yes definitely. And I think we are missing Mundle by more than we’d be missing Clarke if Mundle was fit, if that makes sense?
This transfer recruitment team have clearly got plenty right, more than they’ve got wrong, but he may well go down as the worst of a lot of bad signings.
Clarke is a better footballer than Mundle or Watson right now however we are a better side after using the Clarke money to improve the side. I would rather Mundle, Mepham and Isidor starting over keeping Clarke and not signing the other players. That's the model working, sell a player for big money and use the money to improve the side which we undoubtedly have.
Definitely feels like there should be at least some of it left to spend this month. Or even next summer.
Mepham and Samed won't be cheap then you have Abdullahi and Aleksic who signed permanently after Clarke left. Pretty sure the Isidor loan is an obligation to buy so that's money accounted for and then we were chucking in pretty big bids on deadline day for Bamba at Lorient. We're one of the top spenders in the Championship outside of the parachute payment clubs in recent years. Nobody can say we haven't spent.
At least Pembele felt like a calculated risk that if he “clicked” he was a potential champions league player and could make us millions. Poveda always felt like the best case scenario is he’d be a decent sub option for Roberts. There was no massive upside potential. Just bizarre to give him a 3 year deal.
Just this season I reckon we are about 6m up once fees and loans are taken in to account but over last three seasons we’re 1 or 2 million up at most so depends what timescales we’re looking at for finances.
its a good point that we were looking to spend big on deadline day on another striker but didn’t. That should give confidence to fans that we do have money to spend this window.
Yes. There’s money tied up in future for Isidor. Mepham and samed loan signings aswell as the few million on aleksic and abdullahi then you’ve got new contracts after the window shut to aswell as some money just helping the club run.
Wouldn’t be shocked if we went back in for Bamba, the reported bids were huge for a club in our situation so we clearly rate him highly. Think he's injured currently mind
