I'd rather have him than have no signing. Obviously picked up late. Looks like we will have playoff games as well so the more bodies the better

This

Even if he's only fit for the playoffs, its better than having 0 striker.

He's literally only here in case Isidor is injured anyway. If things go our way, he'll be back and ready before we've properly needed him.

You don't know what the injury is, nor what the recovery period is. You are assuming it's a reoccurrence of an old injury and are slagging the club as a result.

My suggestion is that you wait and see.
No one’s slagging the club ffs i hardly ever speak bad of the club just saying if it is the case (which a Liverpool journo thinks it is) it seems silly goodness me

Stress fractures have long recovery times

he’s just been out for 6 months with the same injury and then a month later has it again
I get your point, but nobody has said he has an actual stress fracture though, that’s pure speculation from this board, all the comms say is he needs a period of rest, even if he is ready to play the last 10 games that’s still quite a big contribution

can you share the liverpool journo thinking it? I'm not on twitter.

surely they'd have said treatment and rehabilitation if it was an actual injury

Yep I think so, tbf clubs comms haven’t been great and has led to a load of speculation, but I think you’re right

This quote from Speakman isn't too encouraging mind:

"...as such we agreed to collaborate with Liverpool to ensure there is an opportunity for him to join us at a later date."

Language like "opportunity" and "later date" used rather than "we expect him to join in a few weeks" or something similar. Even saying "he will join when he's ready" sounds better than collaborating for an opportunity.

There is definitely a small chance the injury is a reoccurence and we've signed him just in case he gets fit enough to play. I originally thought that wouldn't be likely but it possibly still suits all parties in that scenario. Especially if we've agreed financials that mean we don't pay for him until he's here.

I’m not worried like. Isidor and Mayenda are playing well. If they remain injury free, we might not even need Danns at all. As others have said, even if he’s only available to us for the last 6, 8, 10 games or whatever, it’s better than nothing. We don’t need him right now, so it doesn’t matter that he’s not ready to play. Worst case scenario, Isidor and Mayenda get injured on Saturday and young Trey has to play a few games…it wouldn’t be the end of the world. Ogunsuyi is on the cusp of more first team minutes anyway. We’ll be fine.

The club are privy to much more information than you are and have decided it’s a reasonable punt still.

You seem to have created a scenario in your head and then got upset about it.

I'm fine with it as long as he's available from March onwards. Need to use Isidor and Mayenda very carefully now though. Shame because I was excited about Danns.
