I can already imagine the conspiracy theories that we know he wont play this season but we signed him anyway to appease the fans that we tried. That's not plausible though. Liverpool wouldn't do that. All parties must expect him to recover to play a part here.
Tbh it’ll be what it’ll be the club hasn’t ****ed up much this season so gotta trust they’ve done the deal knowing he’s gonna play some part probably sooner rather than later.
**** me! We are coming into the last 16 matches in a very important season.....the last thing we need to do is to sign someone who needs a ****ing rest!
I reckon its proactive management of his previous injury rather than reacting to a new reoccurence of the injury. I know people who've had stress fractures in the foot (from my running club) and they were in agony. I can't imagine anybody could have a stress fracture and not know they were injured until having a medical. So for me the scan has to have shown something might happen rather than show something that has happened.
Yeah you can’t imagine he’d have played mid week and been fine if he’d have had a stress fracture in his back.
That said, I can definitely imagine Danns becomes the new Salis. Every press conference "when's Danns back" ; "should be in a couple of weeks". for the next 2 months
Sounds to me he just needs a period of rest to make sure he is fully healed from a previous injury before risking it
There's also weeks where there is no games due to cups, he could be having a few weeks rest, who's to say it's months?
Sorry probably an overreaction but it seems so so silly to me. Hopefully it’s not long. But it is the same injury that sidelined him for 6 months
He might be back when there's 14 left Or 10. Its no big deal. It was likely too late to bring in somebody else so they probably decided better to have him for 10, 8 or 6 games than 0 games. As long as we're not paying all his wages during the rest, there's little we could have done differently, other than try to secure him earlier (which wasn't possible considering Liverpool's stance)
Stress fractures have long recovery times he’s just been out for 6 months with the same injury and then a month later has it again
I'm pretty confident (although no sort of expert) that he doesn't have a stress fracture in his back. Maybe a stress reaction, but not a fracture.
I'd rather have him than have no signing. Obviously picked up late. Looks like we will have playoff games as well so the more bodies the better
