Has Roko Simic gone anywhere after Cardiff recalled him? His loan first half of the season fell on its arse, 4 appearances and an injury, know there was a lot of excitement when he was linked so just wondering if they’ll be using him or sending him out again
They want to keep him around the squad I believe, or at least to assess him before a potential L1 move.

Meh. First half of the season it was their theoretical squad pedigree that was the reason why we couldn’t possibly compete with these three parachute teams. Having proved that we can in fact compete with them over 20 odd games - and were the better team than 2 of 3 when we played them - it’s now the theoretical pedigree of their new signings that will be the insurmountable obstacle. I won’t be betting against these lads just yet, personally.

When we sign players, in January, some people claim they'll take too long to settle in.
'Cannon is top class' because he'd gone to Sheff Utd ...

I think from experience of the January window and something I heard, there's only probably a guarantee of us signing one player before the window closes.
I think if we got the right one, it'd be fine.
This Willem Guebbels linked to some other clubs I'm sure was someone I looked at in the summer as someone we should have a look at. Got good pedigree, which is something I think Speakman enjoys.

Every signing is a gamble. It needs to be well thought through. One ego too many, one drinker or fighter or poor trainer or latecomer. Even a great player can cause disruption. Of course a good one can also be amazing. It’s a case of wait and see over a few games. I definitely don’t want many more, a boost at the top and defensive cover. I don’t want us to spend daft money. We’re doing well with our current approach.
