You’d think if that was going to happen then it would’ve done by now
Perhaps but as he’s out of contract it might be a negotiation to buy out the contract like we did with Paddy. That’s probably more complicated and would include potentially working on a future agreement to sign permanently.

18 days left of the window,
1 in so far.

are we ready for rollacoaster?
Aye I hope we get business done fairly soon, we have a game on deadline day so don't think we will be involved as much in the deadline day ****e

Been a good window. We didn’t need much got an exceptional recruit for one position and linked with good players
like a few of us have said, we dont need that many in

just 3-4 players, we have one, just 2-3 more in just to help us over the line

the other main thing is that we dont lose any one vital to the squad in this window.

Wyscout has Cannon ranked as the 2nd best striker in the league this season, behind Maja

Isidor up to 10th now, he's been climbing last few weeks and Mayenda is 17th which is good considering he's not actually played that many matches upfront (injuries/wing)
Isidor seems low ranked like

I’m surprised by that. Presumably there’s a heavy weighting to goals scored regardless of how or opposition but that would see Piroe, Sainz and others ahead if it was just that. There’s seven or eight players with same or more goals and more assists so he must be doing something else right I suppose.

The progression the club has made in the last couple of years is stunning. It all seems to be coming together now. The talent of our youngsters coming through is staggering. And given the level the bar has been raised with the Le Fee loan I wouldn't put it past the club announcing something similar in the forward line. Our targets are rarely leaked these days

It takes a combination of things, goals vs XG

Number of duels won, passes completed etc

Still impressive for a striker in a struggling side

Tend to agree. The signing never really sat well with me as I didn't see how he would ever fit into our formation/style of play.
If his 4 months here has been enough to reset him and get him in a better place then great, but he's no loss to us...
It achieved something in as much as it spiked all of the 'we haven't got a ****ing striker, man' chatter that would have been rolled out after every dropped point I guess.

Connolly added: “When I spoke to Kristjaan, I just thanked him for the opportunity this Club gave me when many others wouldn’t. It is something I will never forget and the love I felt from the fans after my first interview until my final game is something that I will always be grateful for. Physically and mentally, I leave Sunderland in a good place and I owe a lot of that to the people at the Club, including my team-mates and the staff. I’m now ready to play games regularly and I appreciate the Club’s understanding in allowing me to pursue this opportunity. I wish everyone at Sunderland the best of luck for what I’m sure will be a memorable end to a great season.”

That is good to read. Hopefully he is through his tunnel now. He helped us a bit and maybe we all helped him. Good luck to him.

That's obviously great for the lad and I'm really pleased for him ...

... but it's also wonderful how our club is so well thought of.

It's a very short time ago that people were saying we were a laughing stock, that all our young stars would put in transfer requests and that they and their mates wouldn't be coming back ...

... no doubt 'there's no one more pleased than them' <laugh>
