Lot of people here do the decent thing and say nothing until they can retrospectively claim to have been in the know.

Because who wants to be told about stuff ahead of time.

Much better to be told again afterwards.

We know the club has monitored the SMB before, so I think it's fair. In my experience, I wouldn't want anything to blow back on anyone at the club. When something is out there, it feels less taboo. But I get where you're coming from.

I don't know much about football outside of the lads to be honest. But doesn't read like this lad isn't getting a chance? 24 goals in 24 games suggests he has been given a chance but realises he can get more elsewhere?
 
We find out about Cannon today so lets see

any deal will be done today with the recall clause ending….what do we think?

Let them fight it out mate. May the best player win. I reckon our existing 3 are pretty special. I doubt Rigg rolls over and accepts playing second fiddle to anyone. He has plenty scrap in him. Wouldnt be surprised at all to see all 4 in at times.

So for our loan/obligation deal, cannon had to be recalled before midnight last night so we’ll see if that happened today. If not he can only leave on a straight permanent deal.

Any deal doesn’t have to be today. If they have recalled him they can hang tight and await an auction or, if the clause only prevents them loaning him to another club they can wait and recall once they think they’ve agreed the highest possible price. The only thing we are likely to know today is whether he’s been recalled.

I don’t think that clause will have been accurately reported. Still being able to recall him in order to sell or play for Leicester is no real protection for Stoke. If it was a no recall at all clause it protects them but as reported just means Leicester could recall on transfer deadline and leave Stoke in the lurch.
 
The loan recall had to be done by midnight last night. If they didn’t recall him he stays at Stoke until the end of the season, period.

We should find out in the next few hours if they did recall him or not.
