£13m for Cannon sounds so much higher as a whole figure but it includes add ons and it'll include a Loan fee.

Speculation, but it could look something like this:

£1.5m loan fee (covering wages and an incentive to stop Leicester selling now.)

£9.5m upon being promoted.

£2m for survival in the Premier League.

In that hypothetical, we get a proven striker for this rest of this season to go for promotion for £1.5m. If we miss out, no harm done.

If we go up, it's cost us £11m to sign a young striker who has scored goals in the Championship, might step up to the Prem. Worst case scenarios are that we sell him to a wannabe Sheffield Utd or Sunderland for £8-9m or we go down and have a striker capable in the Championship.

If we stay up, we've spent £13m on a striker that has helped us bank £200m.

Baffles me why fans get too worked up about the fee for a player. Other than going ****ing that seems a bit steep what else can we do. If the club decides a player is worth it then it's their money! Let them crack on and as has been said this lot haven't chucked money about so far so if the £13m fee is true it'd a real sign of intent and them going to the next level!

aye I’d be concerned if we were spending this and the ELF money outright with no guarantee or promotion. And especially if the club had been carefree with money.

the last thing this lot can be accused of is being reckless with money. The club is in good health. Let’s take those risks.

Let’s not talk about the points we’ve dropped. They’re gone. Nothing to be done now and will just cause frustration. All that matters is the future.

And it feels like this January is a turning point from a club that wanted to try to get promotion into a club that wants to be promoted.

I like the way the club are trying to structure these deals. 13m headline figure seems high, but it will be lots of addons and if he fires you to the PL it will be worth it. Also, once in the PL, we wont be scratting around for a striker, when 13m will get you nothing once promoted.

The club has also been keen on him for a while, so its definitely not a roll of the dice to try and get promotion, so we can take some comfort in that.

I know some are saying he isnt setting the world alight (which might be true), but just in our game the other week he pulled something out of the bag to leave us with zilch when we possibly should have won. Had he done that for us, we could have 3 more points and sitting at the top of the table. At this point will be a bit disappointed if he goes to a rival.

So, its a yes from me.

Aye this lot didn't spend about 40 million on Rodwell, N'Dong and Djilobodji! Not to mention the 30-40 that Ricky Alveraz saga cost in the end!

I guess we may not even hear about a recall tonight. Leicester just need to let Stoke know by midnight. No guarantee I guess that either make it public. Social people may be finished work for day

wish i could add more to this thread but i am pretty set on just letting those in charge do what they think is best...and to be honest, they are doing a great job so far.

cannon is not just a 'buy someone quick to keep the fans happy', they have looked at him before so they obviously see something they want, something to improve the squad and help push for promotion and that is all i need.

Hmmmm I thought if he had to be recalled tonight something more concrete would’ve came out in the press by now
