Agreed verbally yes But then the new offer was put to him and his agent on the Thursday morning very early, he took instructions and pulled out.
I will get the rest of the details tomorrow after I speak to an agent I know who is on the periphery of the deal, from the Midlands side.

No one I can remember would ever be out of contract in January so one year from now doesn’t make sense at all and nor would an 18 month extension in summer. Most of the rumours have significant flaws and sound very speculative. Probably as simple as having a better offer and feeling a bit messed around since summer and wanting to protect himself from injuries that might put the khybosh on a lucrative move.

Yeah the guy I was talking to said the contract would take him until next summer. He never said a year from now.
