I know a few. They try to force a rivalry but I think its just that they're desperate for someone to take notice of them.

I regularly work in and around ‘Boro. Know plenty of them, ST holders too. They really dislike us.

Langstaff averages around 4 shots per game and touches the ball nearly 6 times per game in the opponents box. His goal scoring numbers look great but if we can't provide chances for him it's a pointless signing, just like all the forward signings we made in the summer. Same goes for Moore if we brought him in.
In all honesty I think a lot of it is forced cos a lot of their fans want a rivalry with someone, I used to work with a Boro fan and he was bothered about Sunderland in the slightest
Think it just pisses them off that most of our fans, and also the mags, class them as just another team. Certainly not a rival.

It’s definitely a forced rivalry from their side in my experience.
I only know two boro fans and they’re both absolute gonks when it comes to football.
I think it’s a pointless, underwhelming signing if I’m honest. Fans are moaning about having nobody proven at this level so let’s sign a lad who’s never played above L2 at the age of 27. Hemir was scoring every pre season game against teams that Langstaff plays week in week out and I’d put good money on him or mayenda scoring for fun at that level if they were loaned out.
