My parents decided it would be a good idea for me to go to a milestone birthday fancy dress party for a as Mr T and painted me black about 15/16 years ago when I was a teenager..

 

Maybes to do with the fact until 18 months ago he'd only played none league, yes he's banging goals in but still never played above league L2, it's a big step up, worth a punt and 1.5 million but it's a huge step up

 

Do boro fans actually hate us or is it a forced rivalry? Might be being naive here but I’ve genuinely never met a boro fan

 

Yeah truestory, i wasnt even thinking about Langstaff when i wrote that, it beggers belief nearly 14 years later were signing players for 1m, (Mayenda) and nearly 2m for Rusyn in the same league as we were then.

I know a few. They try to force a rivalry but I think its just that they're desperate for someone to take notice of them.

I regularly work in and around ‘Boro. Know plenty of them, ST holders too. They really dislike us.

 

Langstaff averages around 4 shots per game and touches the ball nearly 6 times per game in the opponents box. His goal scoring numbers look great but if we can't provide chances for him it's a pointless signing, just like all the forward signings we made in the summer. Same goes for Moore if we brought him in.

 

In all honesty I think a lot of it is forced cos a lot of their fans want a rivalry with someone, I used to work with a Boro fan and he was bothered about Sunderland in the slightest

 

Think it just pisses them off that most of our fans, and also the mags, class them as just another team. Certainly not a rival.

 

I know too many Boro fans. Im surrounded by them on a daily basis unfortunately.
They really do genuinely hate us. I wore my Sunderland training top and the gym last night and the amount of people doing a double look when they spotted me wearing it was comical

 

It’s definitely a forced rivalry from their side in my experience.

I only know two boro fans and they’re both absolute gonks when it comes to football.

 

I think it’s a pointless, underwhelming signing if I’m honest. Fans are moaning about having nobody proven at this level so let’s sign a lad who’s never played above L2 at the age of 27. Hemir was scoring every pre season game against teams that Langstaff plays week in week out and I’d put good money on him or mayenda scoring for fun at that level if they were loaned out.
