That's quite a tricky set of questions tbh.

'Do you think we need significant investment' ... I'm not sure what we've already spent and don't know how you'd define 'significant'.

'Are you happy to keep signing cheap promising youngsters?' ... absolutely providing we're also prepared to look at anyone who can improve us.

'It’s obvious we lack quality' .. we have loads of quality, hence the interest from PL clubs.

'We need players to come in and make an impact now.' ... I'd agree but we also need our current players to step up.

What I wouldn't want is panic, as we had signing the likes of Grigg, and still failing to go up.

I'd rather do our best, with the squad we have, and buy in the summer then have a real go next season.

I'm not far off 70 mate, so want success now, but I don't want to repeat the same old mistakes we've made so often before.
Fair answer, I think we are at a crossroads, we have a sprinkling of quality that can quite easily be swallowed up by the big boys if we don’t show a level of ambition or we continue to sign promising youngsters. I just think we need to do both, sign promising youngsters and proven players, both would complement each other.

The Grigg signing actually made sense at the time, he’d scored goals everywhere he had been. The problem was we massively overpaid and he didn’t wanna be here.

Exactly my point.

Over the last fifty years I've seen us bribe endless players to come to the far NE coast when it was clear they really didn't want to be here. They've stunk the place out, barely tried and taken our money. I'd rather have triers, like Ba, who run themselves into the ground tbh.
We should support them, with everything we have, just as we've done with wasters like Grigg, Chopra, Rodwell, etc.

I only want players here who really want to be like Ballard, Clarke, Huggins, etc.

If they become too big for us that proves we're signing the right players, not the wrong ones we always used to.

Done with supporting the model.....is what I should have said. Not done with SAFC. Now I read that back I see where I should have been clearer
They need to go back to the original Model buying brit based players that have lost their spark..The last 2 windows have been a very poor SCATTER GUN approach just buying player that they might make a profit on in a few years time. About 13 players bought in those windows and only 2 actually make the starting 11 off three different managers and the same glaring weaknesses in the same positions.

Not sure i'd call it scattergun, but you are right re regular starters

I don’t generally have an issue but I do think we’ve messed up with strikers. If we want a succession I can see the next ones but I haven’t seen Stewart’s replacement. We should have sorted that in league one. I know a few said Simms but ….. It seems our Achilles heel and I think that’s because good ones aren’t cheap because they’re wanted.
Have you watched Simms this season ?

I feel like we can really improve the squad with very little outlay in this window.

For a striker I would focus on a British based loan.
Kieffer Moore, Bournemouth
Michael Obafemi, Burnley
Divin Mubama, West Ham
Joe Gelhardt, Leeds (despite his goal record here he fit the system)

For a midfielder we should look at players with contracts running down or are not getting a lot of minutes at their club but are still at a good age where they can develop further.
Sam Field, QPR
Shandon Babtiste, Brentford
Joe Hodge, Wolves
Tim Iroegbunam, Villa (probably more likely to be a loan)

Left back can be solved multiple ways. Free, loan or permanent.
Bohdan Mykhaylichenko, Dinamo Zagreb (we have been linked on a free)
Harrison Burrows, Peterborough (would be pricey but a great signing)
Luke Thomas, Leicester (loan)

A player in each of them positions is key and it really wouldn't take a big outlay to improve the squad as a whole.
