Played well for us when he was here but if he hasn't had a club come in for him since last year there has to be a reason
That’s the risk though - he may not be. Just have to see how he gets on before we regret. The M’villa of old would have been utterly brilliant for us (as would the Defoe of old when he came back).
Five minutes ago he was saying the only club he would drop into any second division for was Sunderland. Also said he didn't need the money, he just wanted to play at a good level but it was also reported he couldn't find a new club due to unrealistic wage expectations. Pretty pleased we avoided him, just get an odd ugly feeling about him.
Agreed, stuff he's saying just doesn't add up. He's not played professionally for, what, 8 months? There's a reason nobody's gone in for him. No chance in hell he'd be up to speed in less than a month, and what even is his level now? He'll not be the same player he was for us the first time around. Absolutely mad people are using this as a stick to beat the club with, imo.
Mowbray and anyone else who wants him can **** right off https://www.si.com/soccer/sunderlan...fo1ygnWzb9xDWlS3isO5wRFnnlp0BL4yiD24TcI4xJ6E0
If he was the player who we had before then definately but he's not played for ages so the alarm bells would be ringing. Why's he not been picked up by now. Still think we need that type of player but happy with what we have. Hopefully Rigg will get more game time
Not a hope in hells chance that he would go there when you look at the clubs that are eyeing him up and the fact we are a bigger club. Mowbray acting the prick and trying to unsettle him.
Couldn't agree more, like he is going to go to Birmingham ffs! If he goes he makes a step up, at best Birmingham would be a sideways move. They couldn't hold on to Jobe so doubt they going to poach Rigg. Also think (and hope) that the lad is switched on enough to see we are the best place for his development now and the big clubs will come later!
If QPR win today Birmingham are ONE point of a relegation place and were humiliated at Sheff Wed ... ... I hope Mowbray had nothing to do with this nonsense, respect starting to fade.
Not even worth discussing Rigg to Birmingham. Has the same likelihood as us announcing de Bruyne before kick off today.
I wouldnt blame Mowbray if he is wanting Rigg personally. He will know how good he is and if he thinks Birmingham can put a good deal together why shouldnt he try? I dont see it happening mind. In fact I dont see him going anywhere in the next 3 years. I think he will be the natural successor to Dan Neil as the local fulcrum of the team.
It's annoying that this is just after the window has closed tbh ... ... Birmingham seem to want to use Sunderland as a way to get people in their ground.
"Birmingham local media reporting that Alex Pritchard was dropped for the game v Coventry after an altercation with coaching staff during and after the game v Cardiff when he was asked to play out of position."
