Played a sum total of 146 minutes all season. Hasn't made a single start.

Brilliant

Looks like a winger and one for the future rather than the CDM people want.

I see this as a bonus signing.
Well, we need a winger. That much is clear. So if this is a bonus signing I hope there is a winger, a CDM and a CF coming in as well.....

Not sure you build your team around them. I think the problem TM had was getting the strikers to do the right things to enable the approach players to deliver to them, which,in itself was a challenge, with almost all of our approach play being quickfire pass and move whilst cutting in from both wings, more so than getting to the bye-line and pulling the ball back. Very difficult for a striker to take up the right position in those circumstances, and, almost always,a la Gelhardt,it's tempting for them to move away from the goal towards the edge of the box, which is where they perceive the space....leaving no-one ready to pounce in and around the 6 yard box.
Having said that,Jack seems to be going on the outside of the fullback more often of late, and Abdou has done too,so maybe a change in approach from us.

Looking at the three Stoke goals they seem to be doing more of what Mowbray was trying to do. The first was a cutback to the CF, second was a long ball from defence and the third was a ball fired up to Ekwah.

That's a good mix imo and not the endless balls for Clarke to have to beat three defenders as before ... incidentally did you notice Ba's left foot pass to Clarke and right foot finish.

All done as if it was a training session <laugh>

My issue was that he was not willing to see or try and swap the wingers around for even 5 minutes.

I think he IS the winger.

Like I added to my post above, Ekwah hadn't played a single game when we signed him. So this lad already ahead of him in that regard. I wouldn't write him off as somebody unable to contribute.

Back up to Clarke which is needed, was always going to be a kid really, an established player isn’t coming to play second fiddle in the championship, never seen him play but looking forward to seeing what he can offer
