Eh? He said in his interview after the summer window they aren't keen on taking players on loan. They want to nurture their own players.
he might have but he literally said a few days ago we have bids in for two loan players and two permanents.
Could be doing with someone who just sits and screens as well I think. Even just to chuck on while we're defending a lead.
I've been saying that all window, mind I don't think an out and out striker will make much difference unless JC does what he did in Saturday and looks for them.
you said that BRMC said: ↑ KS has already stated they aren't keen on the loan market. no big deal like all I said is we are ment to have two loan deals in.
He's the only player against the club who fits what they're talking about. Maybe I'm just forensically analysing his words because of my unbreakable mistrust of the club. Or maybe it's because we're desperately short in a key position.
Yeh I think him referencing players we have that are injured is almost out of respect for the likes of Evans, who IS here but isn't being considered. He's saying we need to bring experience in that position in, whilst also acknowledging we do have Evans injured. Its fair enough.
really odd that Evans isn’t back already he’s been training for a good while now and we don’t hear anything about him. Sure he was due back a couple months ago wasn’t he.
Well,if there was one available,he probably would look for him. This is MB's most pressing issue to solve imo. We've spent long enough without a front running hold up striker....haven't had one since a fit Rosco......but,last season into the play-offs,this season, atm,on the verge of the play-offs.....it's not like we're floundering at the bottom. We have Hemir,Burstow,Rusyn and Mayenda....are we saying our recruitment in this area has been poor, and saying to MB....work with them and,if you feel we need them, get at least one of them into a functioning role.
I wouldn't say the recruitment has been poor, but probably I'll judged off the back of last season's performances. Stewart had 8 months with us before he was considered the main man, yet he was a seasoned pro.
I'd also like to add that Mowbray didn't help himself. I was at a loss when he kept banging on about the strikers learning to play in our team. Surely you sign strikers to score and build your team around them.
i seem to remember that LND was given a september return but evans would be december, may have been further updates but i can't remember seeing any.
Not sure you build your team around them. I think the problem TM had was getting the strikers to do the right things to enable the approach players to deliver to them, which,in itself was a challenge, with almost all of our approach play being quickfire pass and move whilst cutting in from both wings, more so than getting to the bye-line and pulling the ball back. Very difficult for a striker to take up the right position in those circumstances, and, almost always,a la Gelhardt,it's tempting for them to move away from the goal towards the edge of the box, which is where they perceive the space....leaving no-one ready to pounce in and around the 6 yard box. Having said that,Jack seems to be going on the outside of the fullback more often of late, and Abdou has done too,so maybe a change in approach from us.
