it would be very difficult but not impossible if they continued to play like they did Friday I just can’t see relegation at all now and I do see completely different performances ahead to what we have seen earlier in the season and I also think after the ****s and Sheff games a lot more teams will be wary of how they will now approach a game against us.

Ohhh I can. But like you said, if they play like they did against Sheffield and have that as the new minimum standard, we’ll be fine.

To make the playoffs
Wed have to only drop 10 points maximum in 17 games

Someones living in cloud cuckoo land

We signed some good players becasue getting relegated would be a disaster
100%. We’ve spent decent money on decent players, loan or otherwise, because there is still a real risk of relegation, at which point ‘the plan’ would be derailed considerably.

For what it’s worth I also agree that we would probably have been OK, but I think Acun’s trying to make that more likely whilst also having an eye on kicking on next season.

Saturday will be very telling.

Away from home Selles has us hard to beat but causing a threat in attack, 1-0, 1-0 and 3-0 away wins in a row is shows how he has improved us.

The signings all make sense on paper and those who have played have given a good account of themselves.

However, his record of W1 D2 L2 for his 5 home league games suggests our home issue hasn’t been resolved yet.

We couldn’t be at a higher ebb after our last performance and buoyed by snaring of Barry from the clutches of many rivals.

Playing against a beleaguered Stoke team, yet to win in the league under Robins and struggling to attract players in the transfer window, should offer us all we need for a home win.

However, we all know what Stoke at home usually brings.

If Selles cracks this nut, then all the top half finish bets will be filing the pockets of all those who dared to dream on here!

“only 13 points!” People forget the other teams can win too…
Good point well made Jelly.
Some people on here need to wake up and smell the coffee.
After the FA Cup match versus Donny I would have snatched someone's hand off to finish 4th from bottom and go again next season.

Playoffs is beyond our reach. Assuming it takes the same points as last year (71) we’d need 2.4 points per game

on a side note. This was posted today about centre back play. All the Macca is poor comments really come to be shown up

McLoughlin has always been a much better passer than Jones, especially progressive passing. McLoughlin’s weaknesses are a lack of mobility and pace.

I think playing a lower line has helped I don’t disagree. But given he’s quite aerially strong and good on the ball it’s good to see him flourishing a bit more

Reactions: Lincoln Tiger
Jibes is now starting to play forward instead of sideways and is looking pretty classy to be honest how he looked with Greaves .

We need players who want to be here. Pretty clear from the outset that Taylor wasn't interested - move on
Agreed we should have dropped our interest in him, when he first started not making his mind up about coming he has just been stringing us along hoping he would get a better offer. i would not have him now no matter what.

Annoyingly this feels like a potential playoff squad with a playoff manager... If the season started tomorrow.

However good feeling that from that squad the loans are Burns, Lincoln, Bedia, Zambrano, Puerta, Gelhardt and Barry.

Burns and Bedia wont be missed, Lincoln i have no idea if he's even any good and the others there's a chance are all here at the start of next season.

Add to that a full selles pre-season and no scrambling around and we're seemingly in good shape to be back to be better off than we were at the start of this season.
