Exactly, pandur is nowhere near as bad with his feet as people make out, yes some may be better but that doesn't make him poor. His technical ability as an actual GK is better then rushworth and so is his command of his area. He's our GK and has the potential to be for years to come, he is working on his distribution and that will continue to improve along with the other aspects of his game that are already at a top half championship level. Why some where so eager to see him replaced is a strange one considering he's the reason we aren't cut away at the bottom.

His distribution hasn't cost us points this season ( at a push you could argue Leeds but that's clutching at straws with what else went on during the game ) but his GK ability has certainly gained us points this season and I'm sure will again before the season finishes..... I know which id rather have

Well. I think it is. And I think a lot of people either just aren't looking at it, or don't think it's important. Many fans struggle with the modern game and all the passing about at the back. I think people switch off when that is happening and they think it's of no importance until we give the ball away.

Pandur simply can't even try the passes that we need a keeper to make at this level. Rushworth made one last night with his wrong foot into Slater in midfield and set us off on the attack. Those moments are important, but some people think they aren't. Being penned into our own goal mouth because our keeper can't find an out ball has definitely cost us points. Just because he usually doesn't directly give it to an opposing player who scores like against Leeds doesn't mean his distribution isn't holding us back. It is holding us back and he will almost certainly be replaced again either this window or more likely in the summer because of it.

I don't like this Rushworth news. It's obvious he was our number 1 and it should be obvious why. Pandur is a good shot-stopper as we've done to death plenty of times but there is more to the position. We can't be getting penned into our own box at goal kicks because our goalkeeper can't make passes longer than a few yards. Whether people have noticed it or not, that is what has happened with Pandur. Three examples are the Leeds and Boro games and the Portsmouth home draw. In all three of those games there were long spells where we simply couldn't get out of our box and every goal kick became a scary prospect. The goalkeeper simply has to be able to make mid-range passes to the wings in the modern game.

It's now another position that looks a mess. We've got a keeper who is popular but no City manager has ever wanted and lacks a crucial skill and a keeper who we've been trying to bin off and presumably also lacks that same skill otherwise he'd have had a chance by now.

Curious to know why Brighton have recalled him. Maybe because our style is play isn't as closely aligned to theirs as Walters was?

If we’re not going to get the keeper on the ball more often it doesn’t matter, game just passed Rushworth by last night he could barely get involved or make any impact. Absolute passenger.

Don't disagree with your appraisal of Pandur, I just don't think we're in a position not to use the best players at our disposal in any given position, and I think Rushworth may have had the edge based on what we've seen in the past.

Not to say anyone's desperate to see Pandur dropped or replaced, just if we could get an extra percent or two out of that position, we should do.

We’ve potentially pissed off both goalkeepers that we actually own. Racioppi maybe not for much longer.
I’m assuming it’s been last minute, all the signs were that ruahworth was staying. if we knew he was going back, why would we drop pandur and risk pissing him off.
In all honesty we didn’t need rushworth, we caused ourselves a problem by signing him. Pandur didn’t deserve dropping.

I agree with all of that, I've been saying it about Pandur all season. However you and I are in a tiny minority on here.

Some talk of an injury to one of their keepers. If that's the case, then It happens unfortunately.

It is, much as the love in with Wrexham gets on my tit's a bit, as a player you'd want to be a part of it. Good luck to the lad wherever he goes. Never been anything but professional.

if they get promoted this season, longman will get invited to party with reynolds in vegas
