He was injured over the Xmas period too. Neither started vs Boro and he preferred Giles off the bench to replace Drameh and he did nothing wrong to warrant being dropped vs Leeds. I suspect jury is still out for Selles. Jacob played his best game yet for City vs Leeds, so probably has the edge now.
I have family member and two mates all unlinked with each other who are Boro pass holders. They all would welcome Giles back. In fact when I said the other day, most City fans would drive him there, one suggested not to worry, they’d do it.
It hasn’t worked at City, but there’s clearly a top player there. I don’t think he fitted into Liam’s style.the number of times he had the opportunity to overlap Philo and Zarouri so many times but he was clearly under instruction not to. He probably wasn’t the only player who got lost under Walt ball. Under Selles, prior to Xmas, I thought he was starting to look much more confident and apart from getting injured, has done nothing wrong since. It’d be a shame to see us throw away a £4m asset. I’d prefer to hang on and see if Selles can get a tune out of him.
