Yeah he certainly had that in his locker, especially as he got older. Alzate also has the ability to lose possession when he’s trying his more attacking passes.

Neither Seri nor Alzate were/are exemplary for defensive output but Alzate is much better defensively. Seri barely made any tackles or interceptions per game for us.

FYI I could have been, and am often, more wrong i.e. Altidore will be a goal machine.
I think Alzate just looks like a ball player, he’s shown absolute levels in defensive output to any of our recent sitting midfielders
Was it Alzate dancing through them in their penalty area when it seemed to be stuck to his feet while he beat 3 or 4 of them until his shot went wide?
(haven’t really watched it since the game so it may not have been as good as recall it, but looked great at the time)

He's a full Colombian international with seven caps and spent a number of years at Brighton after Orient, and then out on loan at Standard Liege for two years via one at Swindon so he certainly has something about him. 26 as well so a good age.
Pretty remarkable that if a move is indeed close for either a winger or striker or both that no names have leaked out.
