Would agree with all these, apart from think we need to keep TLT (as 3rd choice). Also I’m in no rush to see Longman go, we certainly aren’t gonna be buying3 or 4 wingers in the transfer window and he’s already proven to be a reasonable back up.

The fact people consider Longman a reasonable backup shows just how bad things have got since last season.

Disagree Jim, think he causes all sorts of problems for defenders with his movement. Problem is it fades after 50 minutes

The problem is there’s nobody around him to make any use of his play, he has to do it all on his own. He’d be better off dropping off to pick up the ball with another striker leading the line ahead of him so he can be free to link up properly with the rest of the team.

He always has been a reasonable squad player. People talk about him as if he’s taking up 30k a week and the main focal point of our attack, he’s simply a squad player that is decent and has a touch of magic in him occasionally.

I'd suspect FFP projections mainly. We can deregister Zambrano, Belloumi and Millar straight away.

FFP/PSR won’t matter as long as you’re good by year end. It’s cash flow that could be the issue.

That is unless they’re scared of bringing players in and not shipping the right amount out

I think his fitness and pace have improved massively since he joined which has perhaps gone a bit unnoticed by the looks of it. I don't think that he's quite the old man people thought he once was. I doubt he was ever the quickest player or someone who was going to burst into channels.

His skill and his brain are ahead of his teammates unfortunately his legs aren’t

Walter wasn’t blameless by any stretch but a lot of people confidently said this squad is good enough to finish mid-table under a better coach and it was absurd at the time and it’s absurd now. Myself and others said the squad was nowhere near good enough months ago but others were convinced a change in coach would see us climb the table as we’re not a poor squad, just mismanaged.
If we started the season again, with the same squad under Selles, I have no doubt with a few additions we would be looking at top half. It was pretty clear the players did n’t have a scooby do what was expected, and had totally lost confidence individually and as a team. Unfortunately, it’s gonna take time putting right the damage Walt carried out. Having our three biggest goal threats injured hasn’t helped either manager.

Our summer signings list makes for grim reading.

Rushworth - hasn’t played
Racioppi - played once
Burns - barely played
Mehlem - Leaving already
Bedia - potentially cancelling the loan
Giles - Want rid of him

Pedro & Alzate look okay but have missed the games because we were unprepared so they weren’t fit, Palmer & Hughes have had medium term injuries so have missed half the games.

We’ve been unlucky with the Belloumi and Millar injuries but the Zambrano deal obviously didn’t go as planned either.

The only successes imo are Puerta who again missed half the games cause he wasn’t fit and Drameh, who’s played but mostly out of position. Burstow is another who looks like he might come good but even he’s missed half the season cause he wasn’t fancied.

If our January recruitment is anywhere near as bad we’ll probably finish dead last.
Yeah, that is grim reading. Some is bad luck, some terrible planning, some risks that (so far) haven’t come off.
Regarding your successes though, Peurta has only just come good (probably suffered more than most in Waltball?) and I disagree re Drameh. Apart from one superb game early doors (on left side too), I don’t think he’s been very good.
