When I see or hear the team news I'm always more at ease when I see Williamson is playing.

Taylor tends to back off abit too much for me. Its like strikers see this and smack it at him, it hits either his hand/arm or takes a deflection and ends up in the back of our net.

Bang on! Taylor drops off, and as for the people who said he is a leader, yeah he points the finger at everyone else and NEVER picks up himself. And when he does he can't defend without trying to get the shirt off the back of his opponent.

WILLO!!!!!!!!

WILLO!!!!!!!!

I think thats a bit much to judge his leadership qualities by the body language you see on TV. You don't know what hes saying or what he says away from matches or what he means.

I'd stick with Taylor. Sure, I don't know enough to make a valid comment on their abilities and habits but the Colo/Taylor backline is working well and I can't complain about that.

Was wondering what the hell Taylor had done to get so much flak, him and Colo have been the best CB pairing in the league.

Should go to the end of the posts before forming an opinion.

A number of threads came up with this subject and i got seriously pissed off with everyone picking Willo.

Williamson was the better defender at the time - Obviously not now though.

He wasn't the better defender at the time at all. Saylor has always been the better defender, but people judged him based on his first few appearances back after his injury, and didn't give him time to get up to speed.

He's always had so much more ability than Willo.

This.

For most of last season Williamson had looked far better than Taylor ever had, they weren't just judging him on a few appearances.

captain hindsight to the rescue

Saying that a defender of Williamson's quality, a player that cleared the ball out because he lacked the bottle to take any responsibility and make a simple pass at the back, a player who was 6ft 3, but weak as piss, and had the balance of a drunken Donkey, is better than Saylor is the biggest insult ever.

Williamson has never and never will be as good as Saylor ever was when he had a proper run of games, not just the odd appearance.

When Saylor is first choice and plays regularly, he's class. Play him not so often, he's not that great. He was obviously frustrated and upset with the amount of time he was out, due to his back luck with injuries. Mentality plays a big part in the way a player performs. He's always had the ability, but it was hard for him to come back and regain his form.

When he first came back, he'd push up the pitch far too much because he was so eager to impress and make up for the time out by scoring a goal.

His eagerness to attack sometimes clouded his judgement in defense and he left us bare at the back. It was nothing to do with his ****ty positional awareness, it was his mentality. He's sorted that out now and knows that he needs to be a rock at the back, and that will do us. His goals are just a bonus. As long as he remains solid and keeps on shouting "****ing come on" in front of the gallowgate end, at every home game, we'll love him and respect him as a player.

Willo's a championship player. And he's our only cover, along with Perch. We need a center back in january.
