For once I agree with Peter Swan, heard him before the game saying this match was one for the January window, Luer probably would have played but I would be amazed if Bruce doesn't want shot of Aluko despite whatever bullshit he says on the radio trying to talk him up. Was funny hearing Bruce calling out something as bullshit on air tonight as often you get the feeling he knows a bit about the old bs himself

I think there was some points in the opening post that could be discussed on a football forum; I don't understand why they weren't. This endless abuse will kill this board.
When someone says 'Everyone thinks you're a ****' or something similar, that doesn't necessarily include me.

Did you see Greg Luer today?

Hopelessly out of his depth. And he's the star of he academy.
Tigerscave?? ****.
There's no debate.

The thing is as was mentioned a month or 2 ago, these players are youth players who have been coached over the last 2/3 years in an academy set up, before that there was just a youth team with little or no investment in it. Other teams have had academies for years & have a system of bringing them through, we have a bunch of kids who like playing football, that are just that!
We can't expect just because the word "academy" has been added to the youth set up that they are going to turn into first team players overnight.
I'm sure there will be the person who wrote something about how it'll take time will reply to this & put it in better terms!

Whether I saw Luer or not is not the point, is it?

Nor does it have to be a debate, it might be better as an easy discussion; or better still, it could move to dialogue, which we might all benefit from.

But never mind, as you believe your opinion is the one that matters; it's just a pity it's so bloody overbearing. <ok>

Is that a joke? I thought he did really well when he came on, also made a brilliant run which should have been rewarded by a goal if Aluko had made the obvious pass. Also he nearly scored with his first touch?!

I think he's half cut or something because that last comment about Luer is utter bollocks

It comes as no suprise that the Hull City Not 606 board is still by far the most active in number of posts even though we have been relegated.
Most of them are complete bollocks.
I think we are all ****s.
I didn't see this before the last comment but it quite often is Bollocks with the capital B

I'm very much in favour of taking the cup seriously and wanting to win as much as any other game but don't mind at all seeing different players play even though that's almost contradictory.

But given that we were playing a weakened team today and usually do, that debate is irrelevant to this thread. Even when we play a weakened team we won't give much of a chance to our biggest young prospect. I just don't see how Luer is ever going to progress when he's obviously not going to get a chance at a decent level.

When the likes of Featherstone, Cairney, Cooper and Cullen were coming through the respective managers threw them in in a big game to see what they could do. Arguably only Cairney was really good enough, but we're never going to know whether Luer is good enough unless he gets some starts in the first team. When he has started games against weaker sides he's scored, so surely the next step is to give him another chance against a Championship side.

Feather stone!!! Eh. When??
I would have started Luer today. But after seeing him and if my nuts were in the vice I wouldn't pick him.

The Man City game was a wasted chance to give Luer another run out though he was pretty unlucky to be paired with Aluko today. He nearly scored with 20 secs of coming on which would have qualified as one of Bruceys best ever substitutions but you can see he still lacks confidence in certain situations. Certainly not as bad as King Chazz is making out in his inebriated state
