The issue for me was that without any kind of 'board rules' for you to follow, allied to the fact that they wouldn't discuss deletions and banning meant that at times you never really knew what was 'too much'.
So then people start to 'fill in the gaps' themselves of what they think is happening.
And if you don't what what's not allowed until it's deleted, and different mods appear to have different definitions of what's not allowed, you then look at the board and think 'WTF? He got a ban for that but look this personal ****e deliberately goading the same people over and over again' and its allowed.
Letting those kind of thoughts fester for years without explanation lead to an awful lot of disgruntled posters feeling hard done by.
That's a key thing like would be helpful to know the reason for the ban rather than just rules violation.
