Okay, I like Jack Ross, and think we should give him more time. And, no, I'm not saying it just to push buttons, or because it is the current 'hot topic'.

Interesting, I'm sure there'll be some who agree, some who disagree and others who aren't sure.

Your post won't 'push buttons' mate, people on here are tolerant and quite normal human beings.

They tend not to blow up just because someone has an opinion.

I like him as well however, it would appear that he struggles with the pressure of expectation here.

Wow, it's like the promised land :emoticon-0100-smile

I often back away from posting on RTG, just because I can't be bothered with the sniping and being torn to shreds if the neanderthals disagree. This should be fun!

Yeah, fair point. It's an interesting one, in theory he should be everything we want - young, intelligent, seems incredibly hard working if all the reports are to be believed.

I really hope it works out for him here, I'm tired of the constant churn of managerial changes.

This exactly, maybe new ownership may be the key

Hi all, like many new members I have come across from the SMB, although in my case as a long time lurker.
Looking forward to some reasoned debate, without the cliques and general unpleasantness that is pervading that board. HTL.

Welcome. You and me both. Just had a glance over there and see that one of the most popular posts is a typically predictable, provocative and abusive post match thread by The Tiffin Tit. A perfect example of why I left.

Completely agree, the more negative, the more 'likes' they seem to get and it fuels a vicious cycle. You know the ones who will appear the second we lose a game, or play badly spouting vitriol. Then when we win again, they vanish.

I've never been able to figure out if some folks are just completely negative in every aspect of their lives, or they get a buzz from slating the club/manager/fans/players etc.

Agree toddius if we have a young keen manager perhaps we should break trend and instead of letting him sink or swim under the stresses of management, clubs should adopt good managerial skills and start developing and supporting them to help them reach their full potential which in the long term benefits the club with stability:emoticon-0148-yes:

Don't forget those times that someone posts info that they genuinely believe and if it's not 100% correct the naysayers pounce.

It's ironic that the Takeover thread was bludgeoned to death by people, at first, claiming it was all nonsense and ridiculing anyone who chose to believe.

Then, when real information started to appear, that was attacked and relentlessly pulled to pieces.

Now the same people are whinging that the excitement has gone out of the thread and that it's Groundhog Day.

When they're left swimming in a little pool of their own bitterness they still moan ...

... having chased away anyone with actual information they're now bellyaching that there isn't any <doh>

Agree 73,
We've been debating this recently and although I like Ross he seems to have lost his way a bit and you can see the real pressure he's under getting to him.
Think he needs support that I don't think he's getting from his back room staff and how Donald could introduce such support I've no idea.
Last night's result just typifys our club and prove that the squad are right behind him however the big test is the bread and butter match on Saturday, it's not quite a must win but if we do it could relieve a lot of pressure on the manager so here's hoping.
