I honestly think we will get him now. The club will know the players stance after one on one talks or whatever with his agent. If he wanted or his heart is set on going elsewhere we wouldn't of went in with a 3rd offer. "Why chase someone who is not interested in playing for us" just wouldn't make sense. you can't force someone to sign for you. we have obviously made some movement on him personally. Now we trying to tie it all up with Feyenoord.

Says Marseille are going to go for Wallace Yan, who played 35 minutes in the club world cup for Flamenco and scored twice.

Well if Marseille can’t afford Paixao they also can’t afford to pay Wallace Yan’s €40m release clause.

Aha knew nothing about him, other than what I read in article and a quick check of his stats.

Although of course just because a player has a release clause, doesn't mean his present club can't/won't sell him for less ;)

Serious question for Professor Askey:

So far Liverpool have spent £190m this window and I get that they didn’t spend much the last couple of windows, however even though they just got £75m for Diaz from Bayern Munich, the loophole scam known as PSR….. they just tragically lost Diogo Jota and will be paid out a substantial sum from the clubs insurance policy. Will that pay out be booked into the accounts as revenue for PSR purposes?

As far as I am aware, all income is eligible to count towards PSR. Whilst I'm sure there would be some exceptional cases where it doesn't, from an accounting point of view, this would be similar to them having sold a player (albeit under tragic circumstances) and thus I would expect it to count towards any PSR calculations.

It’s likely irrelevant as the top six would never be penalised regardlesss of spending. City are living proof of that

sound like we have an opportunity here to put contracts out on Bamford, Meslier etc and get some insurance compo to beat the system, we must have Paddy insured for £30m <laugh>

Can’t see that being Greenhoff, Forza. Either one :1980_boogie_down:. I got the 7 that old school mentioned. I know the face of the player on end of back row, opposite to Wille Bell but can’t recall his name. The others I don’t have a clue about.

<laugh> I meant to Charlton’s right but probably before Greenhoff’s time with Leeds tbf

Greenoff had signed a professional contract with us prior to that picture being taken, however he isn't in the photo.

Having seen the answers I probably should have got 2 more than the 5 I did, I recognise the names of 3 others

Come on guys. Im supposed to be the young one on here.

If i put a ? then im not 100%.

Back row is

Jim Storrie, dunno, Sprake, dunno, Ian Lawson?, Willie Bell.

Middle row is

dunno, Charlton, Mason? (Full back i think),dunno, dunno

Bottom row is the easiest

Bobby Collins, Bremner, Goodwin?, dunno, dunno, Albert Johannson.

This looks like the old second division team prior to 1965 cup final season. I can't find Alan Peacock. Maybe I just don't recognise him in the picture but im pretty sure he played up front with Lawson if that is Lawson.

Edit....big lad in the front row....1st name escapes me but i think its Goodwin (i keep thinking its Tyler but its not). He played cricket for Lancashire too.

Sadly I’m relying on a very worsening 70 yr old memory. Freddie Goodwin is the big fella, don’t think the end bloke is Jim Storrie, saw him play a few times, but could easily be wrong. His face however is familiar. I’d expect Ian Lumsden to be in the piccie, and did think he might be Emu’s Storrie.

Freddie Goodwin sounds right.

End bloke looked like Jim Storrie to me but I am happy to defer to someone who saw him in the flesh. If it isnt Storrie then where is Alan Peacock? Im guessing this is 1964 btw.

Im sure the little bald fella next to big Jack was called Mason or something. He was a full back. Im terrible with first names and I keep thinking it's Willie Mason but he was an Australian rugby league player from 20 years ago.

Surprised Giles isn’t in the photo. And Lorimer. They were at the club in ‘63 unless this predates that.

Also Hunter, Madeley and Reaney.

I thought this looked more like 62/63 vintage just looking at Billy and Jack’s faces. Alan Peacock’s not there. Can’t really help further :emoticon-0148-yes: .
