I wasn't born until 1980 so this is a little bit out of my statto knowledge. Was John Charles at the club in 62/63 in his 2nd stint? That's what put me off. I could easily be a season or two off but I'd be confident it's prior to 1965.
He left us 2nd time in 62. I never saw him play, other than in Jack Charltons testimonial in the mid 70’s, when he’d not played professionally for many a year. He was terrific, I still remember him trapping a ball on his chest, in that game.
