We are a team that us progressing very well (maybe not as fast as some who require instant gratification would like) and seem to be building something lasting and special.
There is nothing to fear from the playoffs for me, if we go up we deal with that, if we do not we deal with that.
The club is so well structured these days that I don't worry too much about things behind the scenes. What worries me most is the fans reactions when we play at home. We should be bouncing at home this season but it seems that everybody is always waiting for something to happen or a big occasion to come around to really fire the team on. I remember when we just got fired up because it was match day, think we need a bit more of that enthusiasm back. We need to find that roar again, the raw emotion of match day, the vibrant energy of a love for your team, the encapsulating commitment of support no matter what.
We are Sunderland.
Sunderland till I die
Keep the faith
I can't help falling in love with you.
We will win the play offs because our fans will drag this team kicking and screaming over the line, because that is what we do. They will see the queues around the ticket office and hear the chants in the ground. They will know and understand what it means.
The one thing I have noticed all season us how the team reacts when the fans raise it up, they move the ball quicker, they are more committed in challenges and they raise the game to a different level. It is the fans who do that we drive them on we give them the adrenaline rush , which is why I totally believe we win promotion. Because our fans when up for it are the best in the land and we as a fan base know we have time to get ready to help RLB and the boys.

I still remember the feeling inbetween Ross Stewart shooting and the ball hitting the back of the net. It was like slow motion and its stayed with me and may well stay with me forever. Closest thing to an out of body experience I've had at a football match.

What’s notable for me is that whilst media and youtubers are all being fairly negative about Sunderland (generally based around stats and results) the players in interviews have been a lot more pragmatic in their assessment of the situation. DN was very positive and almost upbeat, even a youngster like Chris Rigg telling the supporters to stick together as the team needs everybody pulling in the same direction. RLB seems the calmest man around as if it is all going to plan.
Maybe it is me clutching at straws but I become less worried the closer it gets, maybe just maybe the results are not good but the preparation is great. I guess time will tell. If we believe the the players will believe, if we as fans can create belief then there is no stopping us.

It's very poor that some people actually need reminding to be honest.

Look what can be achieved if we are all on the same page and pulling in the right direction. Little set backs are blown way out of proportion these days and teams/people are not afforded the time to learn from mistakes. Some fans are patient but unfortunately some want instant gratification and at times these fans can seem the loudest.
There is nothing wrong with criticism and discussion as long as it is well thought out and balanced, and the same goes for praise, football is an emotional game and I have yet to see a perfect team or manager.
Our job as fans is to support our team as best we can and I have mentioned regularly the support is needed most at the lowest times as it is easy when things are going well.
Have opinions and discussions but at the heart of it all should be that support that the team needs.
If this is not evident from the last 3 games we have played then I am not sure what game some people are watching.

Good post mate. Next season we need to reinvent the atmosphere of the Reidy seasons, when he said he looked at the opposition players in the tunnel, could see them ****ting themselves, and knew we were going to win. That's of paramount importance for the coming year. The club, the management, the coaches, the players have all got to do their bit.....and so have we, in the only way we can. I really hope this is the catalyst for a massive improvement in our home atmosphere.
