Annoyingly I can't read this because supposedly I've reached the limit of free articles on that website.

Good that someone like Daniel Storey is covering us (I know he's covering everyone at some point this season but still) - shame it's about us being ****e.
if you go through someone who’s posted it on twitter you can click show reader on iPhone and it’ll show you the article

Strange, I was able to read for free. Basically just a neutral saying a lot of the stuff we're saying about Walter criticising the fans not working in his favour. Does raise the point that Acun showed his impatience by sacking LR, so it's hardly the fans fault for being impatient with Walter.
Posters keep saying Walter criticising the fans and it seem to have taken on a life of his own!
Didn’t he just say he wants the fans to get behind the team not boo? Or words to that effect?
Happy to be enlightened if he’s said more

He said that Portsmouth's supporters were louder than City's supporters, which is what the article discusses.

‘I heard the reaction from Portsmouth (fans) and they kept going all the time, also when they were behind.

‘So maybe we have to work more together and they can help us as well because sometimes you have bad situations and you are down and you need maybe a push from the fans. That is what I expected to be honest and that’s what we can do even more.

‘I try to push them, but they can help us. They can help us, we can’t do everything right but we try to do, and it’s a young team and it’s a young squad, and we are new together.

‘All we need is a bit of support from the stands, not if we are scoring a goal. Also if it’s maybe not on our side, we need their support.

‘I understand they are angry about things sometimes, but all we can expect is support. It’s (needed) from both sides (team and fans) and that’s what we need.’

Oh the utter utter bastard fancy saying that
Season pass going back now I’m done.

I think it's a fair point that Walter didn't actually say anything that outrageous about the support. He was probably shocked by the fallout from it. That is naive of him though.

It's more that he's done nothing to make himself likeable and he's taken needlessly disruptive and unpopular positions on things like VAR and goal music in the short time he's been here. On top of that the results are ****, the goals aren't flowing when we were told that was the whole point of his appointment, and he doesn't even sound humble or respectful about what came before him; he says being 19th is the same as being 7th which is utterly stupid to say when you're the one in 19th, and he explains away the unpopularity of his style by saying that we've never seen possession football before, even though we played possession football last season whilst finishing 7th.

When you look at what he's given the fans so far as an overall body of work, it's a bit of a car crash.

Exactly

Hes a dick, unlikeable, which is fine and he can be however he wants to be if the results are there
But when he has us battling relegation
Hes just a ****

As you say PLT I don't think anybody is outraged by his comments , he just hasn't done himself any favours

To say none of us has seen possession football before is just a strange comment , it was a big
criticism people had of our style of play under the previous manager

It certainly was naive, having just put in a crap performance against a team you should be beating, the last you should do is take a pop at the fans.

Yes, that's basically what the article says. That while he didn't say anything outrageous, the fact he can't grasp that away fans will naturally be louder, but chose to comment on the home fans is what provoked the reaction he got at Oxford.
