A link appeared in my Facebook feed this morning that claimed Walter had been sacked. I later found out it wasn't true. I had just read through the now-closed US election thread and realized that your media is every bit as bad as ours. (Well, perhaps not AS bad.) I appreciate the respectful discussion on the election thread, by the way.

Speculation but I think there was some bones of contention between them, Acun’s ranting about Allsop and Sinik points toward that imo. Working on different wavelengths or maybe a clash of personalities. Whatever the reason I don’t think it was for finishing outside the top 6 or boring football, although they undoubtedly contributed.

Not at all. I was confident in the outcome (and pleased).

I unlike 99% of those who post on here was at the game last night.
I do not recall a more delusional arrogant coach/manager in my time supporting this club.
As somebody who goes home and away to games I will not watch another live game till this absolute joke of a coach is gone.
I am absolutely furious with how pathetic this clown is and how are we still coached by him.
    ****ing pathetic Acun.

The passing between pandur and the defence was a joke last night. Respect to the fans who went and watched that. How is that any different to what rosenior served up. Frankly I believe that Andy dawson would prepare us better for sunday and get the crowd back inside.

I don’t know. It’s the fact that 3 games in a row the minute we’ve conceded we just don’t look like scoring. Granted part of that is maybe the opposition tightening up and most likely was the case yesterday. Theres just no direction when when teams score

Sacking Rosie due to 'fan pressure' or as a 'populist' move?!!
    No way.
Nearly everyone was gobsmacked when he was sacked. Yes, some were growing frustrated with the (mostly) boring football BUT very very few were actually calling for him to be sacked.
Acun did it because he lost faith in him as the man to deliver promotion and to deliver exciting football (yes, I know!). Coupled with that, he struggled to understand / accept some of Rosenior's selection decisions (transfers in and on the pitch).
The sacking certainly wasn't fuelled by supporter opinion!!
On here there was only a couple who actually wanted him sacked. I had said I was indifferent, and then joined them, but we were definitely in the minority. FWIW, I still think it was the right decision, but unfortunately the replacement looks like turning into a disaster, but that doesn't detract from original decision.

I think you're right that only a minority openly wanted him gone. But I think many more were against him, booed at games, thought we could do better and probably wanted him gone without explicitly saying so, because it was seen to be an extreme position to take. As soon as he was sacked, there was plenty of support for it. It immediately became more of a mainstream position once Acun pulled the trigger.

Rosie was sacked because he was offered an EPL striker in January to cover for Delap. Rosie told Acun he didn’t need him. Acun’s response was “we’ll see in May.”

Might've been a better idea to respond by saying "I'm not asking,I'm telling"?

Fair points. I do wonder if his options are limited with how he wants a ‘brain team’ to pick the squad, rather than a manager. Tim Walter maybe one of only a few who are happy to try this.

Don't think I've heard that before.
Turned that offer down yet took Sharp and Ohio?
    Makes no sense.
How do you know that actually happened? Who did he turn down? IF true, then he deserved the sack just for that - likely cost us a play off place that was there for the taking, and who knows, perhaps even a PL place.

I remember the rumour that Barmby was offered Billy Sharp when were riding high, and him declining him, but not heard the Rosie rumour of a similar ilk.Alas both seemed to end in tears

    - The players aren’t happy with the system
    - The system is rigid with no flexibility
    - The style of play has become as dull as Liams on a bad day
    - Tim has been disrespectful to fans & journalists

The only thing Tim can do to reverse any of this is to get results. But, we are so easy to plan against and pick off that I can’t see this happening.

I also quite like Baz’s suggestion of Ruben Selles at Reading as a replacement.

Was this before or after Delap got injured? I’d say that plays a huge factor in understanding the logic if this were true

Interesting background. But no idea why we'd think he'd be a good replacement. Why?
