Match Day Thread vs Hoffenheim (A)

Goalkeepers: Mignolet, Karius, Ward

Defenders: Matip, Lovren, Klavan, Gomez, Alexander-Arnold, Moreno, Robertson, Flanagan

Midfielders: Henderson, Wijnaldum, Can, Milner, Grujic

Forwards: Firmino, Mane, Salah, Origi, Solanke, Kent

squad for the game.

no sturridge either as the manager said.

IMO i see no real changes to the team form watford coming....... Milner is really the guy to look out for.

Klopp could put him CM for windy or at LB for moreno.

IMO this game NEEDS a change in system and philopsphy and can and henderson must sit tight properly. IF i see them wandering about with no regard for team shape i will scream

Seriously.. 90% of the game is made easy by just focusing on good team shape. the 10% is inspiration that shape alone cannot bring. If we get in good positions hoffenheim won't trouble us unduly.

Same as watford :bandit:

all 3 goals could have been resolved before any chance was ever created by... good team shape.

first goal... henderson awol
second goal can stupidty
thrid goal mane not chasing up, everyon too deep.

in the end we know they are quality but we know for us its about how seriously we take a game and how good a shape we put out

the quality is there to score.

this game should be taken as a huge chance to get an away goal.

I’d have liked to have seen Liverpool all over this, but it is looking increasingly likely that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will move to Chelsea.
The London Evening Standard are reporting that the champions are growing ‘increasingly confident’ of pulling off a £35m deal.
They report: “Standard Sport understands no fee has yet been agreed but negotiations between the two clubs are ongoing and the Blues have received sufficient encouragement to believe a transfer is possible.”
Are Liverpool missing a trick in not competing for the England man

12 months left on contract and its 35mil.......

maybe he wants him for RWB... whatever it is its too much for 12 months left.

The set up should be similar to what we had when we played bayern in the Audi Cup. It's up to Hoff to break us down and we can then utilize the space they afford us with pace.

Any other tactic and we will fail. They will definitely be there for the taking.

I was more referring to reds away from this forum tbh mate, as most of you lads are quite pragmatic

Losing in the qualifier makes the entire previous season completely worthless and I know exactly how that feels.....and there'll definitely be major fume should that occur to you lot.

Yeah but if we lose then we'll go into a comp w right stand a chance to win <whistle>

Or we can concentrate on the league :bandit:

As mentioned above, the onus is Hoffenheim to attack us and we are much better on the counter.

I fancy our attack to bag an away goal.

If no one else is signed, who are we blaming? Edwards or Klopp, or both? You and your mates have broken my spirit.
all i can go on is Klopp saying he only had specific targets therefore by his own words he is responsible for the fact no MF or CB has been signed as neither target was attainable - a fact which was blindingly obvious at least a month ago

Once we trounce them we'll be world beaters again and everyone will forget about Watford and the fact that we can't keep an old-people's home XI out at set-pieces.

It really isn't funny, there is a real problem there that needs resoving and coaching has not worked. It hasn't worked because the players are not up to the job so we should add players who are. Sounds simple enough.
