So i think we would all agree that Virgil is pretty special, he's under a 6 year contract , can we keep him? if not how much is he worth? Surely more than Stones

I wrote elsewhere that I think you could make the case that he's the best in the world at the moment, especially given his age and experience. He makes the odd mistake but certainly less than Stones and Cahill.

I also think he'd make an excellent centre forward. He's quick. He can pass, dribble, shoot, head......what else do you need?

He's only 25 as well, that's the incredible part. When/if the day comes that he does move on, it will be to one of the beasts of European football. Twitter last night was quite funny and very predictable when his name started trending.

Charlie Nicholas put him in his 'team of the season' and got a barracking on Facebook from Arsenal fans laughing that he was in ahead of Koscielny and Mustafi...

Umm....

Arsenal fans in hijacking social media shock...

It'll be a success to keep him for just another season, let alone until the end of his contract. I just can't see him going unnoticed by the giants of the game (and money is never an issue for them) for much longer, especially considering the dearth of quality center backs at the moment

Unfortunately I agree with this. I just can't see teams not being interested and not prepared to pay what we're asking.

If we were to keep him though it may signal a change...

If KL's got any sense she'd sell him in Jan for 50 million plus then sell the club to China for 200 million, not a bad days work!!!! :1980_boogie_down::1980_boogie_down:

Maybe if we are bought by the Chinese he will stay? (No)
