Virgil should be priced 10 mill above what anyone would pay. He's not peaked yet....I want to see him carry on improving at Saints.
Would be a bit surprised if Katrina sold the club. After all it was her fathers hobby. Do you really think there is a chance she would sell the club or is this all just a bit of rumour mongering?
I am talking about a player worth 3 or 4 times what we paid for him, tadic and bertie are worth what we paid for them so putting a price on the wholesquad is fairly easy for any potential investers, whereas Virgil could be worth 40 million or even 100 if 2 or 3 top clubs are after him
What's all this? That Virgil is rubbish. Only keeping a place warm until Gardos is back (twitter this you technos, and get the papers listening). PS. That bit on the website from Puel about Virgil proves he's a rubbish manager so no-one should try to take him either.
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has made signing £30m-rated Van Dijk a priority as he looks to strengthen his defence. (Sunday People) £30m???
He's 'aving a larf. I hope we stand firm about Virgil as we did with Morgan, Mane and Wanyama initially. He is on a long contract and I think we haven't seen the best of him yet. We will need him to defend our Europa title.
VVD only signed a very long contract last season so there isn't a panic and adds significantly to his asking price. I also think that the ridiculous price paid for Stones has set the president so £30m gets put in the bin pretty damn quick and can't see any movement this season but the summer sadly will see this incredible player move on to probably Man City or Spain for a mega salary...oh sorry for Champions League & win trophies
Enjoy Virgil while we can ....he keeps playing the way he is at the moment he will be off in the summer. The big boys will come a calling and the lure of big money and big trophies will see him off...can you imagine him in a Barca or Real team!
My choice is Saints, Saints and Saints....but at a push, he can go abroad. I don't want to see us playing against him....apart from in the European Cup.
Puel says “But I think when I saw Virgil for me he played 60 or 70 per cent of his quality, because he stayed I think with good comfort, without exploring all his qualities. I think now it is important he has this ambition to become a great player and one of the best centre backs in the world" Do we want a player that isn't giving 100% every game, if not it isn't it time to get rid! .
I'm hopeful we could get 50m for him, but more likely it would be 40m. And if someone makes that offer, I'm pretty sure he will go. Only a pretty big club in CL with lots of money for wages would stump that much for him so he would be having his cake and eating it too. The falling pound is certainly not helping.
