Untenable position?

Dalman has come out in support of Bulut. One thing he can`t defend is the results. "2nd game of the season set up to sit back and defend lost 2-0 Middlesbrough set up to defend lost 3-0 Leicester set up to defend lost 2-0 Leeds set up to defend lost 3-0 Plymouth set up to defend lost 3-1. That is how the manager wants to play so you must think he is the best manager ever. Defend those results because to me we have a lunatic in charge. .

Define "lunatic".

Stuck record. Learn a new tune.

Yu could have searched this for yourself but I have done it for you. Lunatic is a term referring to a person who is seen as mentally ill, dangerous, foolish, or crazy—conditions once attributed to "lunacy"

Wow!!! Self analysis.
First step on the road to healing!!

There's hope yet (just like with our club).

A mate of mine was adamant (no not Prince Charming) that Bulut had quit last night in a heated meeting at the club... By all accounts reported on another less reliable message board...

Yet there he is, taking training (with Rambo included)...

Hopefully a striker and defender incoming soon... Probably from Reading as part of the takeover I guess :emoticon-0136-giggl

Brizzle, you just can't heal stupid.

Just thinking aloud, is anyone else starting to get the feeling that VT may just be trying to tread water and outlay as little as possible between now and any potential payout via the Nantes/Sala legal cases, possibly in the hope of a significant amount of money getting 'returned' to him and thus making it a good time to sell up and walk away having mitigated some of his losses??

Maybe but you’d think as a businessman he’d consider that the sale price goes up the more successful a club is and vice versa ie speculate to accumulate.

The thought had crossed my mind.

I think he's as much afraid of breaching the sustainability rules and the potential penalties involved through committing a lot more money. Current player values on the balance sheet must be zero through amortisation right now.

It's a gamble spending decent money on more players and watching their values depreciate to zero through their contract term as a result if they don't bring the desired success - unless you can sell them on for a profit of course.

I know City had set aside a prudent Balance Sheet contingency of something like £21M over the Sala affair most of which has since been paid out to Nantes but not included in the P & L for the year to May 2022.

If the club as alleged have borrowed money to do that, it would have to appear in this current year to May 2024 P & L when eventually published. Bear in mind, we haven't had the May 2023 accounts yet (due to be submitted in March).

If Tan gets anything back from the Nantes court case it'll be a huge bonus, but unless an early out of court settlement is agreed, it won't be included in this years accounts to May 2024 either.

Any further big spends on players and their committed contract wages would only make matters worse. That's not to say I don't want him to buy <laugh>, but for all his faults and despite those that think he hasn't got any, the man is very aware and a very shrewd operator financially.
