The fact is that developments over the last 30 years in the UK. have concentrated money and power towards London and the home counties, at the expense of more or less everywhere else in the country. The EU is about strengthening of the regions and the redistribution of wealth - even though it doesn't always work in practice. This is not even a theory in the UK. at least not under the Tories. You can point one finger after another at Germany yet the fact remains - Germany did not ask for one penny of European money when trying to lift the infrastructure of the former GDR, they did it all themselves.

The PM can decide, along with her cabinet, that any deal forthcoming does not meet the demands of the people as expressed in the 2016 referendum. Her plan, including the backstop, should be abandoned and a deal closely based on Canada ++ should prevail.

You clearly have not looked at the amendment that has cross party support, and everyone believes will pass. This takes power away from the PM. She knows this, and is now seeking to delay it being heard. Ministers are now saying they will resign rather be dictated to.
I was obviously explaining the situation as it is. So far no amendment can stop a no deal exit. Ministers will resign either way, no big deal.
