SUNDERLAND have won the race to sign Rangers midfielder Greg Docherty on loan.

SunSport understands the 23-year-old is set to join the Black Cats until the end of the season.

If we go up I reckon we could sign him and he's be good enough.

I don't know why he hasn't forced his way into the Rangers team although there's quite a bit of competition.

I just hope it's not an attitude issue.

I reckon we should see if we can get colback in on loan.
He never gave less than 100% for us and as well as in mf he had some canny games covering at fb. Chipped in a few goals as well.
Got to be better than leadboots and could cover if power ever gets a knock or too many cards

I would rather have an unnecessary colonoscopy.

Don't know anything about the lad but hopefully he is decent, sho does he replace? Competition for places and all that but don't think he will be coming to sit on the bench

Regardless of who is benched it gives us strength in depth. At the minute barring injuries it would take a brave man to change a settled team that is winning.

Well thought of by my pals in Glasgow " strong lad box to box runs all day fans will take to him"
Mind you that's mainly from his time at Hamilton as he barely played for rangers
However seems to have done well at Shrewsbury
Also said he is very confident and ambitious apparently didn't want to go back to league one wanted a bigger club
But think he would jump at the chance to join us
Also Gerrard for whatever reason doesn't seem to want to play him so if it works out could be a good permanent signing
Good enough to keep if we go up i think

We only have Dobson and power who I would trust in midfield
Good cover for either of these also could play in a three gives us something a bit different in midfield

This this and more this.

He’s a great little player and a dead ball specialist. They’re expecting big things of him at Rangers and Gerrard has said he still sees his future there.

This is a signing and a half. I’m delighted.

Just said he wants to join us and not Charlton <ok>

That's interesting because some ex Rangers player was slating the lad for appearing desperate holding out for a championship club despite none of them wanting him.

He probably couldn't face the thought of listening to Bowyer droning on, his interviews are so flat and drawn out it's almost surreal.

It's like watching a badly produced animation of a woodland creature coming out of hibernation.
