That's the kind of question to answer AFTER seeing who else we sign. If we sign a striker I'm going to expect something different than if we don't. Without a striker I almost expect to see him as the front prong on a modern variant of the 4-4-2 diamond. If we sign a striker I'm going to expect a 4-2-3-1 with Wirtz playing in the middle behind the striker.
Well since you don't (or at least haven't been) playing with a striker and won the league that way who would lose out?
One way or the other (as 10 or 9) Wirtz will have to replace one of Slobo, Grav or Mac.

On a serious note, where do you think Slot will play Wirtz?
Slobo, Grav and Mac Alister seemed to have the high mid positions sorted and you won the league without trying with that formation. Does Wirtz play slightly ahead of them as a faux striker or does Slobo drop out?
Would seem a risk to change a winning formation.

As a 10. It seems a poorly kept secret that we will also spend big on a 9if we can. I think that Slot realised around the time of the Plymouth game that we were knackered and we didn’t have what he needed in depth to compete on all fronts

rotate them would be the obvious answer if we keep them all

Nice problem to have... although I feel like Slobo is the one who will probably see more bench time as a result of this as Wirtz is going to play when fit and not tired and Grav and Mac can play more defensively.

What someone believes in religious wise is entirely up to them.. but comparing it to gay rights isn’t the same thing. No one is persecuting Christian’s for being Christian’s…
Religion is not about sexuali

He had too many chances already,
and failed to take his chances. Leopard will never change its spots.

Kerkez arrived for medical - announcement due later today.

Guess will then be a focus on a few out goings

Think szobo is the immediate one that misses out as Wirtz is a better 10 than szobo is. Szobo is all about pressing and running although has great technical ability. But with TAA going we lack that creativity with passing (other than Salah) and Wirtz offers that. Szobo can easily play in the role Mac did though so I think will likely see szobo and Mac rotating that 8 role a lot more and Mac and Grav rotating the 6 role a lot more.

With Mac flying to South America every couple months he always looks knackered after so will be nice to not needing to rush him back after those games.

so I imagine strongest will be
grav Mac
wirtz

but could easily go
grab szobo
wirtz

or
Mac Szobo
Wirtz

as well as the original 3 when Wirtz needs a rest.

We could do a lot of things.

We could play any ampunt of set ups with the current squad but there's many changes to come so it's almost pointless to guess now until the final squad takes shape.

The general consensus is wirtz is not there to play wide and he is a 10. Only time will tell

Being gay isn’t a belief?

What's a belief and what's a fundamental part of a human beings make up.

Someone "usually" cannot change their mind on sexuality. I say usually as there are some people who do a lot of funny things these days to get attention.etc but the average person doesn't decide one day to change.

Beliefs are learned understanding of the world. They can be entrenched but they are or have to be through about and studied. Even if said stuff may be q anon or flat farther stuff.

I can try to use a belief to over ride a core fundamental part of my make up but it won't end well.

Examples are

I believe I can fly so jump off a building. Oops guess what?

I can believe for example it's a sin to be guy and could try live a lie for a while but most of the time people just end up unhappy and hurting others etc.

In the end the core person deserves fundamental respect while their lunatic beliefs can be called out. This is the problem today, what seems to have to happen is trash the person as well as the belief

You really need to read the news more. 200 Christians, including children and the elderly have just been killed in Nigeria. It was a targeted attack.

According to the latest report (House of Commons Library, March 2025) "1 in 7 Christians worldwide live in situations with at least high levels of persecution and discrimination. In 2024, 4,476 Christians were killed for faith related reasons.

Historically, Christians have been the most persecuted group with an estimated 70,000,000 being killed worldwide. Two thirds of that number being in the last 100 years alone.

If you leave history aside, you can still read stories of current Christian persecution including the example above but add to that the people who've been arrested for silently praying in their head. The locations could be considered controversial but each of the arrests were on days when the streets were empty. Thought crimes?

I'm really not wanting to take this discussion any further because I don't see the point in creating division.

I hope we don't sign Guehi because I don't like him, in the same way I don't like Fernandes and Gabriel. Nothing to do with armbands or aspects of their personal lives just based on how their personalities come across on the pitch.

The bolded bit - you've hit the nail on the head. In a free society people should be free to dislike whoever and whatever they want for any reason they want, provided that they treat everyone equally.

With regard to rainbow armbands etc. the bottom line is that players should not be used as walking billboards, that includes shirt sponsors. There are other ways to show support and raise awareness or promote your club's sponsors than using the players kits.

Wirtz inverted left side as well with a full back that can overlap now.

I don't rate him that highly so don't want him.
