I would argue that, by definition, it is only a precedent if it is followed. Until that happens, it isn't a precedent.
And a lot of people would argue it's been happening for years already. We did it with Henderson prior to Salah.

Which was my earlier point. And a lot of people would argue it's been happening for years already. We did it with Henderson prior to Salah.
All I've said is that it sets a precedent, which is a simple fact.Lfc make more money. Price tickets go up. Inflation goes up. Prize money goes up. Player wages are always going to go up.
What is our ‘policy’ on wages. Not one of us here know what it is. Clewrly by giving Salah that it was within the wage budget.
You can’t pretend to be a top club playing CL football and challenging for trophies then say we won’t pay anyone over 100k and have the wage budget of a lower prem club and expect players to stay from the goodness of their heart though
I agree. I thought his first interview was ok. Nothing sensational, but nothing to complain about either, imo.I liked his first interview and likes how he talked about old club and the respect showed.
So in same way you think he maybe should talk about that, maybe you should also not talk as the voice of the fan as not everyone feels that way. I haven’t seen any negative info about any of the interviews he’s done bar a few comments in here
Well I would argue that your definition is incorrect, but have we really descended into word games to try and win a debate now?I would argue that, by definition, it is only a precedent if it is followed. Until that happens, it isn't a precedent.
The vast majority do.
Lfc fans have always been about club winning in living memory (since the 1960s) anyone saying we want and that's OK won't last long.
Lfc fans as a whole worship managers who win and show they care.

I'm not getting into that, so I'll put it another way: If you give one player x amount of money, you open the door for others to cite that example when they (or rather their agents) are looking to get the best deal that they can.
I really don't know why I'm getting involved in this, tbh - it's a waste of time. I think I've said enough.

Slot didn’t say we won’t win in his interviewing so you’re just making stuff up
I never said he did. Not once.
I said IF he does he will be a goner.
And IF he punches Kenny then I can’t see it going down too well either.
Your post suggested he had said it. Otherwise why mention it?
He also never said that Hodgson was a better manager than klopp. He also didn’t say that Diouf was a better role model than Kuyt.

Need a signing so fans can stop arguing about the intent of a sentence
bored of no news now….I demand a transfer
Tbf mito didn't say Slot said we won't win. He said if anyone coming in says that, they won't last long. I read shades of Hodgson into his comment and the low standard he seemed to set.Slot didn’t say we won’t win in his interviewing so you’re just making stuff up

We were talking about what slot said in the interview and how he came across and then posted comment saying that.. implied to me like was suggesting he had said it.
even so, no point posting the things he didn’t say in the interview and hypothetically judging him for something that wasn’t said.
Very often things are said on here that are ambiguous. This isn't one of them. I don't know how you could read what was said and come to your conclusion and I'm someone who disagrees with mito a lot of the time.We were talking about what slot said in the interview and how he came across and then posted comment saying that.. implied to me like was suggesting he had said it.

But, if you're seeing it that way then you're seeing it that way ......
