If Trent is staying then he will be signing a bumper new deal, as it's being called. Can't believe people on social media think that it would be announced via rows of seats though

It's genuinely funny how it only takes one or two on various forums chatting and speculating to develop into a full on "serious" website storyline.
The other common storyline is 'Trent left out of preseason trip to the US '.

Funny was just reading headline saying how Gilmour hasn’t travelled with Brighton on pre season tour while napoli are interested in signing him…
but then adds afterwards, he wouldn’t have been selected anyway as too soon after euros
Half the 1st team haven't gone either. Anyway I read today that Trent is more than likely to sign (according to 'Sources')
Well there's a surprise. Endo had all the feel of 'we'll wait till next summer' about him. The age, the price, the profile. Decent player but clearly never the answer we were planning on.
That was the season before last though. Any subsequent pay rises can't be directly linked to that. All players negotiating new contracts will want to get as much as they can regardless of what the top earner is making. And anyway, we don't even know if Trent will sign a new contract.
I suppose it could be offset if Salah is to take a pay cut, which Salah might have to take IF he wants a longer contract than the club is likely to offer.
I would suggest the club will only want to offer Salah a 1 year extension, anymore than that the club would risk having an older player on to high a wage. So if he wants more than years then it would have to be at a much lower wage.

Bournemouth have agreed a £12.6m fee with Juventus for defender Dean Huijsen.
The deal could rise to £15.2m for the centre-back, who is now due to have a medical with the Cherries.

Slot says he’d be surprised if we don’t make any signings. Partly due to fact he needs to assess the squad and most aren’t even back yet and partly due to needing quality upgrades and hard to find when have a quality squad to begin with.
Comes across really well in interviews. Like what seeing from him so far. Results obviously be the main judgement but he seems a decent down to earth guy. How he reacts during the good and bad times will show more though
