Agents are allowed to know the game because no one told them to **** away off. Start making agents a liability to the players income and career, it'll change quick enough.

And even if they don't so what? At the moment 5 year deals are apparently meaningless for a club anyway?

It's a matter of will. You don't like agents and player power it isn't going to stop jyst by whining about it.

So...unless Barca offer something so big itd be silly not to take it or Klopp somehow has a replacement found and available. We lose nothing by standing firm.
The thing is, if it can happen to Barca (being forced to sell a player they didn't want to sell) with all they have going for them then it can happen to any club. Where then will football go? If a workable FFP replacement is not found it will become meaningless. A bunch of mercenary Harlem Globetrotters going from club to club at the behest of a small number of owners and super-agents. And as already happens in the NFL it won't just be players that are bought and sold but whole clubs.

Barca arrogantly put in a buy out clause they thought was too high for anyone...without that Neymar would still be at barca.

Unless you sit down with Coutinho, and get him to agree to stay one more year, then keeping him against his will is a terrible idea.
He wont play for you if he is still adamant he wants to go to Barca and your team is weakened by default.
Sell him, get as much cash as you can, and buy a replacement who wants to be there.
Even if he isnt as good, like i said earlier, it will still be better than having a sulky little twat in the squad whose heart isnt in it.

Mahrez would cost £40m, tops. He would be a decent replacement.
If you got £70m from Barca, spend 40 on Mahrez, you get a good player, and are left with £30m.
Everyones a winner, winner, Chicken dinner

WC year and Cout has said he'll go if Liverpool can dona deal amicably. All the noise is if he doesn't go he won't kick up a fuss and refuse to play or play ****.

He seems an intelligent sensible lad, I'm sure of klopp sits down and goes look, we sell you now we can't replace you and season looks a **** one. You're the star man here go perform another season do what you did and get ready for the WC and if still want to go then we'll look to do something.

The problem with FFP is that it only really protects the rich and it disenfranchises the poor.
All it really does is entrench the existing financial inequalities in football, to the point where it completely stops any chance smaller teams have of attracting investment to be able to challenge the rich clubs.

You cannot impose the same deficit limit on ALL football clubs, regardless of their circumstance and revenue.
FFP was "apparently" intended to stop smaller teams having financial difficulties, when what it was really for, was to stop Chelsea and Man City from stopping Spanish, German and Italian clubs from winning the Champions League.
But then clubs all over Europe started being purchased by billionaires too and the money in the game sky rocketed and agents became more and more greedy.
Once the agents are being denied cash, then **** hits the fan, since the agents have sway, over players, UEFA personnel and other important figures in the game.

Unless a wage cap and transfer fee cap is implemented, across the whole board, then nothing will change

I don't see that the buyout clause is relevant. Barca didn't want to sell him but Qatar, in effect, bought him on PSG's behalf.

I can't give up on the game - it's been in my blood since I was 6 (a loooong time), but I'm really only interested in watching it played.
All the other side of it - the obscene amounts of money, the so-called "professionalism" of cheating, the turning of the sport into a branch of showbiz, these have all pissed me off for years now. I don't find all this transfer window "excitement" entertaining at all.

It's LFC that's keeping me with it ... just about. Memories of being a little kid going the club shop, having some of the kit, the posters ... all that. But that's all. The rest of it can burn. I don't give a ****

It's relevant bevause it was met...taking away Barcas option of refusal as per contract. If it's not there in theory Barca could say no to 300 million if offered no matter who fronts up the money. Whether they would have; who knows?

Cheers.

We really cant afford to lose him the day before the start of the season.

I'm hoping we can get him to leave next year or January just to give us a chance to identify a replacement.

That said the little bastard has dropped us in the ****e with his timing so I want him to stay so it doesn't damage the club - not out of some sort of pining or loyalty to the guy.

Fair enough. It wasn't the deterrent Barca presumably intended it to be.

Well he's a ****er just like the others.

The only good thing is we are getting very good money for him.

I wouldn't begrudge if Klopp wanted to leave now.

This seriously harms our efforts this year though and will probably have long term damage on our image.

A selling club. A stepping stone to successful clubs.

I don't blame FSG really but they need to go out now and prove they and the club mean business.

Surprised Barca are willing to pay that much for him though.

Know the feeling .

Yeah, I have sypathy mate.

At least it didn't come just before the start of the season and at least you can defend yourself from other English clubs.

Apparently if you're Spanish you can tap up and basically do what you like.

I thought they had an embargo. Guess it was lifted.
