I said southampton should reject bids up to and including 50mil based on add ons as they would end up with bids.

all that bullshit about the player wanting lfc can now be flushed down there it belongs as well. they genuinely do not care who or where they play.

chelsea will offer a slight better wage then sign him, then sign caicdeo to replace him and thst will be that for lavia

I think there is an element of trying to save face by the club and keep up a rep for bargaining hard

Or alternatively- we aren’t actually that interested and are using it to basically not spend any money

we chased and tried but he was the only player we wanted and you know what klopp is like - will be the general gist
So we will go again next summer….

Why would klopp do that given he said he wants more players. Then sanctions 3 bids on a player he doesn’t want in hope will be rejected so he can have no one? Makes zero sense

The backstories behind Bajcetic vs Suso and Pacheco (add Németh, and Lindfield to that list too, going back fuether) are interesting.

Bajcetic was never over hyped playing for the kids but stepped up to senior and was excellent. S, P, etc al all hyped out the wahoo as kids but never stepped up as seniors.

I'm always hesitant believing any new star kid will be any good.

Same with TAA & Jones. Don’t remember there being a big thing about them until they actually got into the senior set up.

FSG are lucky because they know that the majority of the fanbase accept mediocrity who wont put any pressure on them.

Im not sure that’s true. I think a lot of fans have changed their tune this season and are starting to get on their backs more.

I’ll put my hand up and say I’ve never had an issue with them. Could they invest more? Yes. Coukd they have put money into stadium and not made the club pay back loans? Sure but wanted to make club self sufficient and it was working ok.

However the lack of investment from them is now hurting us and with a big rebuild promised it’s been a disappointing summer after it started so well with 2 early additions. They need to show commitment and some proper investment. Not talking 200m each summer but addressing key weaknesses and I think a lot of fans are feeling let down this summer by them.

Window isn’t over yet so we may get another CM and defender through the door but it’s not ideal start to the season

I not angry but we have seen this pattern before but if you have to have a reason
I guess that reason would be the narrative around Klopp is he wants a player and is prepared to wait for said player

I think Klopp seems an honourable guy so he will have his arguments with snr management behind closed doors

or it’s like many say and he is in charge too to bottom

How do you know they have even happened
maybe LFC aren’t interested in Lavia at all and Klopp/LFC just letting the story run and really there is another target that we don’t know about

now with the window running longer that’s not really a problem
Only Klopp has said generally as a rule in the past he likes to have his targets sorted early in the window
So once again something doesn’t quite add up

personally o am just going to wait and see as there are way too many possibilities

Like I just said on the PL board, I dont think our Lavia bid is serious.
I think we are trying to make it look to Brighton like we are seeking alternatives for Caicedo and are willing to pull out of the deal, in hope that they cave.
And Southampton are welcoming it because they think they can make Liverpool panic and up their bid for Lavia to counter us.

I disagree I think that's mental gymnastics to avoid accepting a reality that fans are entitled these day... all fans maybe not but collectively they are.

I've sat next to people at games and in pubs there's no difference.
