Chelsea bid for Lavia
48m so expect it to be rejected but only ourselves to blame if he goes there and we miss out.
Messing around with silly bids.
Chelsea bid for Lavia
Could be Chelsea and saints colluding![]()
This club is pathetic
Not specific to your club, mine or any other but my take is.....Yeah this is astounding tbh, no issues with bids and negotiations - I agree with not just iron fisting £50m for this kid.
BUT - you keep going back so obviously that is the plan, we want him. Why are we then drawing out the bids and allowing a media frenzy on it, and then the inevitable rival to get involved?
It’s just not what we do and it isn’t good enough
Not specific to your club, mine or any other but my take is.....
Do you really want him, if so make your own decision on maximum worth to you.
Make bid, selling club laughs and want's several million more than your valuation.
Walk away and find another target.
I know it sounds easy (and maybe a bit simple minded) but transfer fees are way out of control. If the selling club values the player far higher than you think he is worth then walk away and tell them you hope he does well for them next season.
I think there is an element of trying to save face by the club and keep up a rep for bargaining hard
Or alternatively- we aren’t actually that interested and are using it to basically not spend any money
we chased and tried but he was the only player we wanted and you know what klopp is like - will be the general gist
So we will go again next summer….
I truly think JH will cream himself if we lose out and he can say, as he did over Tchumanei last season, "Oh well, put the chequebook away for this season. But we're really, really looking at a marquee signing next season. We are you know", and the Echo will tell everyone we're after someone or other like they said we were about Bellingham. Rinse and ****ing repeat.![]()
yes I know but the same level of hysteria wasn't there either. suso was on my watch list for sure as a genuine two footed player.
