barca are sort of publicly owned by the fans so their budgets have to be approved so they can't really hide whats going on which makes it all the more astonishing that they would be allowed to trade like this.

Surely it would make more sense to identify a 23 man squad thats "good enough" and then say no more singings til all the **** is cleared and we are trading profitably?

A transfer ban should be put on them to prevent further self harm really??

Maybe why they were so gung ho over the ESL idea, it could have been the answer to their financial problems.

I beleive so.

Same for real. I think they along with henry (I think he was up to his neck in it) were the main instigators. Maybe juve guys as well.

the chavs and the arabs rans for cover instantly which tells us that it was really for these big clubs and the others were along for the ride.

I just think JH was a proper ringleader in it as well.

anyway as far as i can figure it barca have sold about 20% of their future tv revenue to keep afloat so they must be utterly desperate.

I can't believe they are still trying to buy though. surely they have to "make do" but ego seems to be preventing that.

Wouldn't have though, it would have just made out a bigger problem because they'd have just spent more
I've just gone back to read up on how much each team would have been making in a Super League. Barcelona would have got £310m just for signing up and prize money each year of between £130m - £213m. That's clearly why they were so interested (along with the other teams, obviously). It would have been a massive boost to their finances and a way out of a hole for them. Not saying that they wouldn't have also spent a lot on players but had it come to fruition, the super league would have been the answer to their financial problems.

According to La 'SER', Barca have an objective in their budget to reduce their overall wage bill from 560 million euros to 400 million, these included amortisation payments on transfer fees.

160mil euros by selling recent buys like de jong, getting rid of the big wages

This could be done in a number of ways but the issue for them is they have historically over paid certain players and new signings.

Busquets right now is 420k a week. on his own thats 22mil of thier 160mil need. If they could actually sell or tell him to go but he won't so they are stuck but he must go. if he stays one more season then they have to shed a different player

Dejong is 16mil euros per year
Alba is 20mil euros
Pjanic is 16mil euros

the ****ing idiots have given kessie 250k a week so ADDED 15mil euros straight on

Its this simple, they must sell or they make a massive loss and have to pay christensen and kessie all year without registering them.

the thought that they would sign ANOTHER player after buying torres from city for 50mil to play RW (rapinha) is utterly astounding to me.

All true, I was focusing more on predicting what would have happened next. They would have outspent their means again trying to compete with others receiving the same amounts, plus PSG and Man City with their endless pots of cash.

I get what you're saying but I think with the insane amounts of money available in the super league, there would have to be a point at which they were able to stay within their means. Luckily it's not happening so we'll never know.

Ah,thought he was just a winger.

Klopp loves making an attacker into a midfielder and a midfielder into an attacker.

Or a midfielder into a full back.

Or a midfielder into a a centre half

Funnily enough klopp hasn't converted a centre back into a midfielder @Zanjinho (he is very inconsiderate for you here)

About he only position he refuses to compromise is keeper but then again he played a model rsther than a keeper there for a year and got to a cl final
