Not sure if my memory serves me right here... he played just behind Saurez & Studge for us didn't he?
In a brief spell yeah and then the next season as false 9 in a 343 almost type thing rodgers lucked into and he absolutely stunk the place out when it suited him to force a move. He can go **** himself for eternity for the deliberate lack of effort at times
He's worked very hard to create a persona using certain things that he can campaign on but he is what he is. A money hungry short cut taker. Certain thing have happened to him which are disgusting which shouldn't happen to anyone so I reserve my disgust for his oil doping money and faux medals.
Sterling is decent enough when he has no time to think - when he has time, he tends to make poor decisions. Has always been that way but that doesn’t mean that he’s poor. Not by any means and I think that he’s a good signing for Chelsea. As is koulibaly. And don’t forget they get i Gallagher back from Palace who I thought was decent last season - basically, I think they’ll be strong next year.
In theory right now spurs and cheslea have "improved" so that's the top 4 cementing itself as arsenal and utd have not improved much yet. That's the market theory. In theory city are not as good a squad now. But we expect lots of.movement before September.
City will spend again, no doubt. Arsenal have bought ok but for me, not in the area that they really need it…..more importantly their kids are a year older…..so will be stronger. They have to be. Utd will be interesting - can they get the signings needed over the line? They pressed better in one pre season game than they did fir the whole of last season…..so if they buy well and their big egos are kept in check, they may well be the one to improve most out of the rest. Lots of ‘Ifs and buts’ there though.
They've lost their top goal scorer and best defender Rudiger and Christensen. Do the transfers in strengthen them?
Rudiment will be very hard to replace but if they buy Koulibaly and one more better than Christensen (not that hard) then potentially, yes….we’ll only know when the real fun begins
Don’t get the hate on sterling. Guy moved from a club that wasn’t quite competing at the top to s team where he has won multiple cups and 4 league titles. Fully justified. And he went for a large fee, not like he ran down he contract to leave for cheap
Reminds me of Mane in that regard. Always felt he was better when had no time and could just act on instinct. Although he got better and more composed as he got older. How much game time Gallagher likely to get though. CM is prob chelsea strongest part with Kante Jorginho mount and kovacic. Especially if they only play 2 in a 3-4-3 formation.
Liverpool 'add new member of staff' to backroom team Liverpool have reportedly added a new recruit to their backroom department this summer. According to The Athletic, the Reds have added Frigyes Vanden Auweele as the club’s new head of osteopathy. It has been claimed that Auweele has been brought to Anfield this summer to support the club’s medical team with the prevention of injuries and the optimisation of performance. Auweele’s arrival has also coincided with a promotion for Andreas Schlumberger, who has reportedly been given ‘enhanced responsibilities’ following his arrival from Schalke last year as the club’s head of recovery and performance.
So it's not the contract for me nor wanting to win stuff etc. It's the way he went into games and deliberately stunk the place out in that last season when we needed all hands to the pump. When it suited him he'd turn up and them he'd go missing or worse actually break up attacks. Compare to the nasty **** suarez who when not banned (50% of time) never did anything but work like a dog. Emre can worked OK and was always going. His.final back injury was proven afterwards but there was a very strong suspicion he was faking that. Coutinho would be booed off the park as well for his back paid and bullshit had he gone to city not barca. Finally wijnaldum. He gets a jog on from me but he worked hard every game at the same level irrespective. What will mane get... well he worked hard enough last season so he won't be getting a bad reception at anfield I'm sure but he better not expect a nice one if we play bayern Sterling was a good fee at the time plus he did get the medals he wanted so prob feels justified but his antics on field were discrace
