Good players won't be bringing anything like that amount this year, 28 year old's that have only shown at one club in one league will be far too big a risk for that kind of money
De Bruyne is 29 also. Would you say no to him for long term impact if he was made available tomorrow?
Its about price. No problem with Thiago coming, but for the right price and age does factor into that. 3 or 4 years at best with no resale value or someone else for 5 to 10+ years with a high resale value. If you buy the former it better be at good price cause going to get less off them (on and off the pitch) in the long term. I would also add, if we had mega rich owners like Citeh who threw money at players, I wouldn't be bothered by price. But FSG have shown that fees are hughly important and not to over pay for someone.
Liverpool are set to table an audacious opening bid worth just £13.4m for Thiago Alcantara after agreeing personal terms over a four-year contract with the Bayern Munich star, according to journalist Nicolo Schira.
If we got just one year out of Thiago and it meant we retained the league title, it would be worth it - not at any price but even at the top end of what's being talked about £30m I'd say go for it.
